Grandson is a real beach baby (pics!)

Each generation of our family has grown up spending summers on the beach in Maine, so when we introduced our first grandchild to the beach this week, we were thrilled at how he took right to it. I have a feeling he will carry on the tradition, enjoying the same spot on the same beach that my kids grew up on, I grew up on, my mother grew up on, her mother grew up on, and back and back...

We've been in Maine for seven weeks so far this summer ,and about all of them have been rainy. It was exhilarating to finally see the sun and hit the beach! As you can see, Carter LOVED it! As some of you might remember, this is the little guy that my husband and I hurried to Arizona last summer in order to be there before he was born. Our grandson arrived just days after we got there!

I know! He's ten months old, and the suit is a 12 months size, so I figured it would fit.

Awww..a cutie! Kids and the beach just seem to go together.


Thanks everyone. Like some of you have said, having these memories, and knowing that numerous family members have spent so much time on this beach, is wonderful!

Both babies are adorable!!! DD10 went to the beach for the first time this year with my mom. I overheard her one day telling some friends "We never go anywhere but to Disney" She said this like it was a shame

Aww...luv, WONDERFUL pics of Carter on the Maine Coast!!!


We had the same tradition with my kiddos (now 23&26yo). My in-laws have a sprawling 70 acre farm in CT and my parents live on an island in ME. The kiddos grew up spending alternate summer weekends either in the country on the farm in CT, or on the coast of ME at the beach. Wonderful memories.

I am flying home to MA/ME for 3 weeks in August.
I can package up some of my SoCal SUN and bring it with me.
