Grandson has serious eye injury

I stuck a knife in my right eye at the age of 3. I am blind in it since then and I had a cornea transplant at age 6 that did not take. Your DGS will need to have the transplant around that age for any chance of it taking. Your eyes if not seeing and connections to the brain made by age 7 - 8, will never be correct. Please, do your research on this.
Your DGS can have a full life even with just one eye. I have.

After 2 weeks he sees everything in grey, can see a hand but cannot tell how many fingers are being held up. He is happy and playing. He will see a ped ophthalmologist in South Bend on Thursday. He may have developed a cataract which happens with this type of surgery.
We stayed in the 2 BR condo with our daughter from Seattle, she has not had a vacation since 2006. Our daughters house in Indiana was too small for 7 of us with their 2 big dogs. We would have made it more difficult. The trip is not the same without our grandsons. If all goes well, they may bring the boys down in Feb or early April.
We talk to them several times a day. Today the boy with the eye problem put together a Hex bug maze with his big brothers help. He is playing his 3 DS with no problem. Both eyes are open now, we think hie right one is doing all of the seeing at this point. Keep the prayers coming.
