Grand Villa

I'm thinking about getting a Grand Villa, for our trip next early December. My home is BCV, but a friend's home is OKW. I talked to her, today, about her calling and reserving the villa, at the 11 month mark, then I will transfer my points to her, when I get them in October.

My question is...should she call every day then link the days or wait until the whole reservation can be made? How hard is it to get a Grand Villa in early December?

For a Grand Villa in December, I would call every single day, as early as possible.

Also, just be aware that your friend will be using her own points to book the GV. Not sure if there might be any Use Year issues or point availability issues you need to allow for. Even if you transfer your own BCV points to her, your points, in theory, would still retain their original Use Year and Home resort.

If it were me, I'd call day by day. Early Decemeber is a popular for DVC members to visit. Weeknights in Grand Villas ar ealso popular - most anytime! JMHO. YMMV.

I would recommend the day-by-day calling also. Early December with its low points costs and good weather is very popular with DVC members. GVs are hard to book any time of year, so the 11 month day-by-day ressie is what I'd go with.

As for the swap, I sense that this friend is someone you trust, so why not simply have her make this ressie for you using her points and you make ressies for her family with your BCV points.

I could do that, but she's not planning on going next year.

She rents her points, when she doesn't use them. Will she be able to rent transferred points? I just thought of that.

How about renting her points from her, banking yours this year then having her use your points next year. Eihter that or you rent out your points, then pay her for her points with the proceeds.
