Grand Villa over Memorial Day at 7 months?

What are our chances on getting a Grand Villa over Memorial Day at 7 months? Are some resorts more likely than others? OKW seems the best deal points-wise.

To get a whole week we would have to do a transfer. We have never done that and I am a bit overwhelmed at the process. Is it worth the hassle? Or are most GV already booked?

Thanks for any advice on either availability or transferring.

Since GVs are extremely limited, I would think that getting one over a holiday weekend (or any holiday time) at 7 months out would be highly unlikely. You might do better by renting from an owner at a resort that has GVs and booking 10-11 months out. GL

OKW Grand Villas are so cheap (comparatively speaking) that I'd say it is the least likely to be available.

BoardWalk only has 7 Grand Villas so they tend to be hard to get due to low supply.

That leaves BLT, SSR and AKV. I'd say you have a fair shot at those. BLT and AKV are popular for obvious reasons but between the rather plentiful supply and high point cost, it doesn't seem that owners consistently book them at 11 months.

I have been tracking availability at 7 months out. Prior to our ability to see what was available at 7 months, it was the generally held belief that GVs were hard to get at 7 months because there are not many of them. That is a myth except that BWV GVs are often gone at 7 months out and GVs can sometimes (but not always) be more difficult at resorts other than SSR (which is always open at 7 months out) during DVC's highest demand quarter which is from the beginning of Food & Wine festival at end of September through the Monday after Marathon weekend in January. You can easily get them during holidays that are not in that quarter (example, they were all available during Presidents' week and the Easter Weeks). You should be able to get one for a week during Memorial Day time at resorts that have them other than potentially BWV. Key is to attempt to reserve as soon as 7 month window opens because waiting even a few days beyond your 7 month window can result in not getting what you want.
