Grand Villa in September 2007

My Dh & I joined DVC in April 2006 and we used some of our points in September to stay @ the BC the night before our cruise (did the 7 day double dip to Costa Maya & Cozumel) and then we did 2 days post cruise & used our points to stay @ the BW (wonderful view in our studio - could see the whole Boardwalk). But what I was wondering is our home resort is SSR and we are wanting to take a family vacation in September the week after Labor Day -- and wanted to know just by experience from people who have been DVC Members longer than us - what the odds of us getting a Grand Villa @ Old Key West or Board Walk would even be @ this time of year. It will be my Dh & I ,my Dh's mother (& possibly his grandmother), my Dh's sister & her husband & their 3 kids, and then his other sister & her husband & thier 2 kids -- Big group !!!!! We have decided that if we aren't able to get a Grand Villa we can get sep rooms & use our points ( 1 one bedroom & 2 studios -- or whatever will fit all of us) - we have some points that we banked from last year & need to use - that is why we wanted to try & get a Grand Villa - But my Dh told me to post here on the Disboard & ask around & see what the chances (if any) would be of us getting a Grand Villa the week of 9/9-9/14 of 2007. Any input would be great -- and if our idea of getting a Grand Villa @ that time of the year seems too far fetched -- Please go easy on me -- like I said we have the back-up plan to just book seperate rooms @ another DVC resort using our points but we thought it would be nice to try and get the Grand Villa to share with our Family.

Have you considered trying to book a grand villa at SSR and moving to OKW when you get into the 7 month window? If you are booking at your home resort, you should already be in your 11 month booking window. I would call MS and find out directly. If you want to wait for OKW, I don't think you will have a big problem though. Good luck!

We booked a Grand Villa at BWV for a week starting 9/22 at the 11 month window 1 day at a time at 9am every morning. I don't know how many others may have done the same thing. Good luck though! And worse case scenario you just book individual rooms--not bad.
