Certain resorts with a small number of GVs will be difficult to get for a full week regardless of the time of year (BWV, OKW). AKV-Jambo and VGF will also be hard to get most of the year. RIV and BLT will have availability much of the year at 7 months. CCV, SSR should be available right at 7 months with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas time.

What time of year and which resort(s) are you looking for?
You best chance is SSR they have the most GVs, next is OKW but due to the lower cost they go quickly.

It's a rarity. You might have better luck with the SSR Treehouse if it works for your party.

DVC's two major reservation seasons at WDW: high to extremely high from late Sep to marathon weekend In Jan (Fall season), moderate the rest of the year (moderate season) with some higher demand during certain periods such as Presidents' weekend (and my reference to weekends usually means beginning Thurs), Princess half marathon weekend (the highest DVC demand time outside of the Fall season), the Springtime Surprise race weekend formerly known as the Star Wars race weekend), in late March or April, first two weeks of May, Memorial Day weekend, and time in late June through July 5.

During the fall season, it can be difficult to get most GVs at WDW at 7-months out except for possibly a small number of consecutive days. The partial exceptions to that are Kidani savanna view sometimes when seeking time outside of the extremely high demand times, which are the Thurs before Columbus Day to the weekend after Columbus Day, the Wine and Dine race weekend in November, the last weekend in Nov of Food & Dine, Thanksgiving week, first two weeks of Dec (which are the highest DVC demand weeks of the year), Dec 23 through Jan 1, and marathon weekend in Jan), SSR which are usually open except a risk otherwise around wine and dine race weekend, Thanksgiving time, first two weeks of Dec and Christmas week. CCV and Riviera can also sometimes be found for multiple days in other than the extremely high demand times of the fall season.

During the moderate season, BWV GVs are usually filled for multiple days of the week, but sometimes you can find 5 or more consecutive nights such as in the lowest DVC demand times of the year at WDW (Feb 1 to the Thurs before Presidents Day, last week of April, and July 7 to July 31). VGF and Jambo are similar but usually have more availability than BWV. OKW GVs (except for those in the near Hospitality House booking category which usually fill at 8 a.m. at 11 months out), can often be open for multiple days to a week during those lowest demand times and some other times. BLT GVs are usually open, either lake view, theme park view, or both, about 65% of the time in the moderate season. Kidani standard view GVs are usually open during the lowest demand times, and 40% of the time the rest of the moderate season, Riviera and CCV GVs are often open about 70% of the time during the moderate season. SSR and Kidani savanna view GVs are usually open during the moderate season except KIdani may sometimes have an issue during those higher demand times of that season.

Aulani standard view GVs usually fill right at 11-months out, but the other GVs are often open at 7-months out except potentially during Aulani's highest demand times of the year (June 7 to July 6, Dec 23 to Jan 2, and time around Thanksgiving).

Vero Beach 3BR cottages are most often at least partially filled for any given week before 7-months out except potentially times in first-quarter of the year. Hilton Head is similar although you can also sometimes find multiple days to a week open during non-holiday times in the fall.

VGC GVs usually have multiple days in a week gone most of the year before 7-months out.

I upgraded from to a SSR GV 3 weeks from my travel date, and a week out there’s still some GV available.
