Grand Opening of the New Disney Store at Cherry Hill Mall (Videos included)

My mom, me and my DS went to the Grand Opening of the new Disney Store in the Cherry Hill Mall today. We arrived Just before the 11:00am opening. The place was packed and the line to get into the store was already extremely long and even ended up going down the restroom hall and then outside of the mall. Of course there where no more mickey hats by the time we got there but they did give out mickey mouse lollipops to those asking about the hats (Pic Below). I felt bad for those that had to wait in line in the hall cause they could not see any of the opening ceremonies going on. The opening ceremony lasted about 5 min (I included a video below). After the store opened I can't tell you much about what went on as we decided to get DS's very first picture with santa and then walked the mall until it came closer to the time that Mickey and Minnie would start taking pictures from 1pm-5pm. At about 12:00 we made our way over to get in line for the pictures. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be for it only being an hour from the start time (Video Below). It was ok waiting in line. They had CMs walking around doing trivia questions and handing out prizes. Surprisingly I didn't notice any kids melting down in the line. Everyone was just sitting on the floor playing with the toys they just got from the Disney Store. Once Mickey arrived the line went pretty quick. They had everything well organized. They had a CM there to help take pics if you wanted your whole family in the picture. They even had a CM in charge of moving your stroller along and having it meet you after you had your pictures taken. After our pictures with Mickey we headed back over to the Disney Store where the line was alot more manageable. We got in very quickly but they were not allowing strollers in so I had to carry my sleeping son thru the store. Boy is that boy heavy especially when he is sleeping. LOL We enjoyed the new changes. We left with a Woody and Bulleye plush for DS and my mom left with a giant Jimminy Cricket plush, Jimminy Cricket ornamnet, Minnie shirt, and a Roo plush. Over all I was very happy with our experience today.

WOW! Huge line! I went to the soft opening on Nov. 2nd and it was pretty low key compared to the line you saw today. Glad you got to meet Mickey. Thanks for posting!

My teenage daughter was at the mall for something else and we went to pick her up. When we walked by, Mickey and Minnie were posing for pictures. My DD and her friend said there was a line to even get in the store and they just picked in the front. Thier quote "lots of little kids".

Thanks for posting, I wasn't even aware they were reopening the store. I haven't been to CHM for ages! Missed going thru the store for my Disney fix.

I was there! I went with my mom and my two daughters. We got to the mall around 10:20 or so and got in the line. We were about 1/3 of the way down the LONG hallway where they extended the line to. I'd say we were about 125 in line or so. They started passing out Mickey ears around 10:40am. They were the classic Mickey ears with a Disney store logo patch on them. They then let 100 people at a time into the Disney store, so we had to wait a little while to get in. We were out of the Disney store around 12 and got right in line to meet Mickey and Minnie. We ended up meeting Minnie Mouse, they switched Mickey for Minnie right before we walked up! And we left at about 1:30! It was a long time waiting, but they definitely made the time go by quickly with all of the cm's they had there witht he trivia! I won a keychain and a magnet! I'll post pics later! I am wondering if I saw you there, I can't watch the video since I'm at work. I'll check it out later!

I agree! Maybe after the craziness of the holidays. Would be nice to see everyone again!

I just watched the videos! I saw myself in the line video about 33 seconds in! haha And for the Mickey line I think I got in line a little after you did.
