We are booked for the Grand Gatherings Magical Fireworks Voyage for our first night at Disney because I thought it would get our trip off to a magical start. It's also the best night to fit it into our schedule for various reasons, and we plan to get some rest at the hotel beforehand. The specific time of the cruise hasn't been announced yet, but fireworks are at 9pm. The itinerary from the IPO/concierge office estimates the time for the cruise as 8:45. So I anticipate that we won't get an early start. After using the new search feature to read previous posts, I read where someone said the experience lasted 3 hours. This has me somewhat concerned because we'll have 2 kids with us, ages 4 (almost 5), and 6. Has anyone gone on a day when fireworks were at 9pm? If so, when did you meet, and when did you get back to the Contemporary? Do you see the electrical water parade before or after fireworks on night when fireworks are at this time?

Also, what type of desserts get served? I understand the desserts are typically prepackaged items, and we have several allergy issues.

Thanks.

If the fireworks are at 9:00 p.m., then you would meet at 7:45 p.m. for the dessert reception. Then, around 8:15 p.m., you follow your assigned pirate to his boat. The boat will bring you back around 9:15 p.m.

The trivia is basic trivia questions from their Disney movies which the kids will know the answers.

We started our WDW part of 2004 trip with this cruise on our first evening. It was wonderful. We all had a great time. We are again starting our next trip this fall with the cruise on our first night.

My children were 5 & 6 in 2004 and cannot wait to do this again.

Have a great time.

Thanks. I realized that I meant to say that fireworks are at 10pm. Based on your response, the concierge office is likely right that the start time will be 8:45, though I'm not sure why WDW lists the start time as to be determined on the confirmation/receipt.

I had guessed that the boat would get back to the dock shortly after fireworks end, and I'm glad to hear that seems right. I know there are some additional activities with Peter Pan at the dock, but I forgot to ask how long that typically takes. I figure if it gets too late for the kids, we can always leave early--as long as we are off the boat, of course.

You are welcome. The additional activities is just a photo/autograph opportunity so it does not take much time.

I just saw that they changed the fireworks our night from 9:00 to 10:00. Not too happy about the late evening now for my two children.

Have a great time.
