Eight of us are going, but the special events are quite pricy. Anyone have experience with them? Is there something I shouldn't miss?

Thanks.

Last August, we did three out of the four choices (pirate cruise, safari dinner, and breakfast at Tony's). We all rated the pirate cruise #1 and would do it again. It was so much fun. . . our lead pirate, Patch pirate: , was hysterical and kept everyone in stitches. The safari was a lot of fun too! Great food and you get to stay in the park after closing. The character breakfast was not as great, mainly because we had seen all of characters in the parks prior to the breakfast (we had originally scheduled the breakfast for our 2nd full day at WDW, but WDW cancelled that date and rescheduled us for our 7th day at WDW). So, by then, they novelty had worn off for our kids and the 45 minute wait after breakfast to see Mickey seemed very loooooong!

Hope this helps! Have a great trip!

What pirate cruise are you talking about? There is a cruise to see the electric water pageant as they tell pirate stories with Peter Pan...

Just making sure - because my three boys would love a pirate cruise.

I'm assuming this is what was meant by the "pirate cruise"

The Fireworks Cruise Experience is not like any other you have been on. You start at the dock at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Disney will have a gourmet dessert buffet there for you. Also Captain Hook and Mr. Shmee will be there to meet you. They will spend time with you and your children. Expect lots of fun from these two! When it is time to set sail you will have an Official Disney Pirate in charge of your boat. When you set sail you will take a Pirate Oath. The pirate in charge of your boat will tell you a story about Peter Pan. You will not only see the Magic Kingdom Fireworks, but also get to see the Electrical Water Pageant up close. As your cruise comes to an end there will still be fun waiting at the dock. Peter Pan himself will be there to greet your boat as it returns. He will sing autographs and be available for pictures.

The cost for this Grand Gatherings Experience is:

Children age 3 to 9, $14.99
Adults age 10 and up, $29.99

You are wonderful to respond!!!! That's exactly what I needed to hear - the kids will love it. Now, do we go the end of October or the end of November? Will it be too cold during Nov?

Thanks so much!
