Grand Gathering through DVC question

Hi all- I requested have my reservation classified at a GG through member services (tried to do it through the GG phone # but they directed me to MS). I put my request in on Sat. and was told they would email my GG# to me around Tuesday. (It is a bit of bummer that you have to wait for your number, unlike cash guests who get their # immediately) Today I got an email saying my request is being processed, and they will contact me within 3 days. So (if it takes 3 more days) it will be a week+ for my GG number. Is this standard procedure? I am worried that I won't be able to book any GG experiences as the time ticks away and experiences book up as I wait for my GG #. Have others had the same experience? Is there a way I can hold a GG reservation without that GG #?

It is, but I'd call MS each day to see if they have it and jump the email system. That's what I did and it worked. I had my GG number in one day.

I made my request with MS 2 months ago and never got anything about my GG#. I called back MS and a rep told me it's pointless to do it now since all the GG stuff is prolly booked anyway. I was like, Well alrighty then!!

So don't wait-call and get your # or you may never get it.

Wow- you guys are smart, they had it ready and waiting. Unfortunately the GG events I wanted were already booked up, but I do have some choices.
