Grand Gathering problem

We have a Grand Gathering booked. We have a few events booked. What happens if one of our party (8) can't come and we are left with 7? I know our rooms will be fine, but what happens to our events? There is a possibility that one or two of our group members may have to cancel just before the trip.

Thanks

Shel

I believe they are very strict about it and will not allow you on the event if you have less than 8 attending, regardless of how many are even on site. I don't know what they do about the money - if you show up with just 7 do you forfit the money or do they refund it? I would call. If they really cancel on you, you will probably have to cancel the events. Do it before the penalty date.

We thought this woudld happen to us last year. My brother's girlfriend had to leave earlier than us due to some work issues. We had the Pirate Cruise booked for the 8 of us. We were told by our travel agent to do one of two things.... we could find some lone person to go with us, OR we could just show up and say she was sick. Basically that would mean we would lose the money paid for her, but it seemed worth it so we could still have the experience. BUT, lo and behold, hurricane Jeanne made a circle and came back to hit Orlando :umbrella: and needless to say, all the pirate cruises were cancelled. However, my travel agent has never steered us wrong in the 3 years that we have worked with her. So, if you still want to do the gathering event, I would just show up saying 1 or 2 people are not feeling well. If you paid in advance, I really don't think Disney will care since they already have your money!

Perhaps you could post on DIS what events/dates your group has planned and perhaps a DISer could join you.

On a side note, we are a group of 3 (therefore excluded from GG events) but would love to have the opportunity to join the Peter Pan cruise anytime between Dec 31 - Jan 7. If anyone has this event planned and space for 3 please pm me.
Thanks
Suzy
