Grand Gathering and ADRs

We have 7 adults and 4 kids in our group. When I first booked our stay and ADR's, my sister was unsure if she and her family could join us. I only made ADR's for the rest of us. Anyway, my sister is coming with her DH and DS now. We have ADR's at Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park Fare and have NOT been able to add them.
First of all, I don't understand why we cannot just add 3 people to an existing ressie. Makes NO sense. Has anyone had experience with this? I am hoping we can just show up at those restuarants and ask to all be seated unser the existing ressie.

I've not had that experience, but I'm guessing that the issue is the table space that a large group requires might not work at that same time. I would keep trying to call and make arrangements because otherwise if you just show up with 3 extra people, you'd have to wait until they can accomodate your group.
