I emailed the GF about a crib for our 5 mo. What I want is basically something that will make it so he's not laying inches off the floor, that I can have at my bedside and is somewhat level with me while I'm laying down.
We were at a hotel recently with a typical pack n play, (where you reach way down to pick him up) and he did not sleep at all. I've tried all different ways and it just doesn't work, no one gets sleep.
So GF emailed me back and said they have the regular pack n play, and they have 2 crib options. One full sized crib and a small crib designed for babies under 6 mo.
I haven't heard of resorts offering this smaller crib before..? Anyone use it? Know roughly how big it is and if it will work for what I'm wanting?
Only thing is, I just don't want some big crib taking up tons of space in the room.
What do you think I should do?
(gotta decide, we go in a week!!!!)

Don't know much about the hotel cribs, we just got back from a stay at the BC villas, we stayed in a one bedroom and I rented a crib from Orlando crib rental. Best money I spent. Lisa, the owner, was the best and she was honest and said that she knows BLT has full size cribs but the matresses are very thin. Her cribs were really nice and my DD slept great in it. Drop off and pick up was a breeze too and everything was VERY clean.

when my son was that small we always rented a full size crib. Just worked better than the hotel crib.

OP, there is no guarantee you would receive any type of crib. Most likely you would get a pack n play. Save yourself some stress. Order from one of the offsite companies. You will know for sure what you will receive.

We haven't stayed at the GF, but when we stayed this summer at BC we had a normal crib. They rolled it in and it worked perfect for our 14 month old. We had the same type of crib in 2005 when our oldest was 18 months when we were at the POLY. It fit right between our bed and the wall...so he was right next to us and could see us from his crib. I know when we were at the BLT, there was only a pack n play, same for when our middle DD was 21 months at the ASM.

It might be a Deluxe thing, but we requested cribs at both POLY and BC and got what we asked for, which is great because my kids sleep better in cribs than pack-n-plays.

I'm so surprised to hear this bc this isn't at all what the cast member told me in an email! I guess its a first come first serve thing? makes sense but I wish they would say no guarantee, if thats true.
I'm double checking with the hotel about that again, but after talking to a few I guess I'll go with the small crib. DS is used to sleeping in a cradle, so that'll probably be the most similar to home.
I guess I can always call an off site rental if it doesn't work out, and just have him in the bed the first night if there's a problem.

I've seen the smaller ones at the poly. It is basically pack n play size with a small thing mattress. It has bars instead of mesh sides like a pack n play though.

We asked for a crib at CR and got one. The next trip we were at GF and they did not have any left and got a pack n play. We ended up renting off site last minute. They were great about getting it to us same day... but it stressed me out.

If you want one I'd suggest ordering one. The bedding was also alot nicer then the resort one.
