I am staying at the Grand Floridian for five nights at the end of April. What room requests should I make? I am quite excited and want to attempt to make the most of this opportunity. My sister is there for a conference and invited me to share her room for free!!!!!

Well, I'm no expert, but I'll try to help! I have found that Conch Key has beautiful views. The room decor in that building is Alice in Wonderland, which is pretty, if that's important to you. It's a bit of a walk from the main building, which seems like nothing in the morning, but seems really far when you're tired at night, but if you take a boat back at night, it's closest to the dock, so no problem. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the entire building is non-smoking.

We've walked around to all the buildings, and feel that the views from Conch Key are the best, although I'm sure each building has its own charm. We've only booked Garden View, though, so I'm not sure which building's Lagoon View is the best.

Wherever you choose to stay, you will truly enjoy the beauty and charm of the GF, our favorite resort at WDW! ::yes::

I'll be there on April 21, for 3 nights.

I don't know what to ask for either, so I am just planning to wait until we check in and see what we get.

Our reservation is for the main building concierge deluxe.

I figure it's going to be amazing, whatever room they give us.

I hope you have a wonderful time!

What colors are used in the Alice in Wonderland theme? I am looking for a room in soft pastel colors. Thanks

The Alice rooms are mostly soft blue and white, with accents of soft yellow - very pretty. Some rooms have Victorian wallpaper on the walls with these colors and some rooms are painted light blue, but the bedspreads and decorative pillows are the same in all the rooms at Conch Key, from what I've seen. They are mostly blue and white, with scenes from Alice here and there. I actually never realized Alice was the theme on my first stay at the resort. I read about it after returning home, then looked closely on my 2nd stay at the GF. I've read that some people find the wallpaper a bit busy, but the colors are subdued, so overall, we found it to be a peaceful and pleasant decor. I wish I could post photos, but I don't own a digital camera. I know there are others who have some because I've seen them before. Anybody?

I have pictures of the Alice theme (conch key) and the Swan theme (sago cay). Just email me at: ekmurphy12@aol.com and I can send you the link to the album. The other two themes I believe are called floral (boca chica and honeymoon rooms) and cameo (main building and sugar loaf).

For a garden view room I would recommend Sago Cay overlooking the marina. For lagoon view I would recommend Conch Key. :)

We had lagoon view reservations and managed to get a dormer room on the 5th floor of Boca Chica. Amazing! Highlights included views of Cindy's castle and Seven Seas Lagoon, great views of the EWP and the best sunrise in all of WDW. :)
