Grand Floridian vs Yacht

I just booked Beach club...Should I have booked Yacht?

Agree with everyone here, for your purposes, go with YC. We like GF when we are doing multiple days there, especially with new walking path. But YC is our choice for Ep/DHS!

When are you going, and how did you find a great YC rate, if you don't mind my asking?
Mid-may for a long weekend. It was part of the “Save $500 for 5 nights” promo… but we’re only staying 4. You don’t have to stay 5.

I agree with everyone about staying at Disney's Yacht Club Resort over Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, but just wanted to add my two cents. For me, I personally prefer the Victorian decor and theming of the Grand Floridian, but with the parks being packed between the post-pandemic travel boom and the 50th Anniversary celebration, I would opt for the Yacht Club for ease of transportation.

From Disney's Yacht Club Resort, you can walk to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. So, at rope drop and at the end of the day, you will not have to wait if the queue for the busses/monorails is outrageous. I believe the Grand Floridian is on the new walking path to the Magic Kingdom, but otherwise you would need to transfer monorails to get to EPCOT and take buses to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Being able to walk to two parks will make your trip more hassle-free in my opinion.

Yacht Club would be our choice (maybe we are bias… 👀). Save the $$, enjoy an amazing pool, and be walking distance to two theme parks.

We've stayed at (and loved) both. For a short trip I would pick YC. $800 cheaper and ability to walk or boat over to both EPCOT and DHS.

BTW we've always stayed 5 in a room even when our kids were in college. No problems.

Thanks y'all! We booked the Yacht Club. You guys talked us into it. Excited to experience the boardwalk area as well, we've never been to that area.

Don't want to jinx you, but I think you will all have a blast!

The BC lobby area feels more lively mostly due to Cape May dinning traffic I think. They share amenities, but I always went w/ YC because I didn’t want to risk getting one of the tiny Juliette balconies that some BC rooms have.

Yacht Club is worth the savings. Walk to two parks and the rooms have been refurbed a few years back. You will love it!

I'll be the contrary one in the thread and say that while I realize $800 is a lot of money, I did a split stay at GF and YC last May, with 4 days at each resort, and my sole regret was leaving GF for YC. YMMV but I much prefer GF to YC/BC on every conceivable metric aside from park access (SAB is lost on me, I get overwhelmed by it). QS options are better at GF and you have stellar options right next door at Poly, I prefer the TS options around the monorail resorts vs. Crescent Lake, and the current park hopping rules make it a lot more annoying to just pop into WS for food. Barring substantial discounts I would much rather book Swolphin than BC/YC again if I wanted to stay in the area, because the Marriott campus keeps the location advantage but I think the food and amenities are much better there. I'm actually booked at Dolphin for Memorial Day.

No, it is a matter of personal tastes really. To me the Yacht Club and Beach Club are two different halves of the same resort.

Our first time at the Y&BC way back in the day we booked the Beach Club, thinking it would be more laid back than a "Yacht Club". Turns out they are identical really except for the themeing and turns out we liked the Yacht Club side better. But if the Yacht Club is booked, we don't hesitate to snap the Beach Club as quickly as possible.

Good to know. Thank You! Photos look good for both

We love the Yacht club. So much to do in the general area. Epcot and HS right next to the resort. Walk over to BW for more food and Entertainment (when it's happening) And of course ,the pool cant be beat. Even if you only get one night of use.
