Morning and evening/dinner monorail rush hour every day of the year isn’t exactly new. Throw in a summer rain storm closing the boats/making walking less desirable, any small delay in the line, or whatever other of the hundred circumstances that could occur on any given Disney day…constant ebb/flow and changing conditions.

Please don't change your plan due to a few people. I don't know why some guests think they own the entire resort by renting just a room. We're staying at BWI this holiday to be near Cake Bake, but I may make a trip to GF just to tick some people off.

You make some goods points I can’t disagree. But if most of the guests using the monorail and the boats and buses are they themselves monorail resort guests, then there wouldn’t be a distinct difference during certain times of the year. It is clearly very different right now then it is in February or October or even July 4th.

The resort doesn't book to the same occupancy levels year round. Needless to say, Thanksgiving is very popular.

Same is true of the restaurants. Right now I could make a reservation tonight or tomorrow for Citricos, Narcoossee, 1900 Park Fare or GF Cafe. I'm guessing that wasn't the case during Thanksgiving week. (They are all nearly fully booked for Christmas week.)

But even more significant is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Guests with party tickets can begin entering at 4pm. So it makes all the sense in the world that demand for the monorail by Grand Floridian guests would peak around 4-5:30pm. It's also possible that a disproportionately high number of GF (or Poly, or Contemporary) guests book those resorts because they planned to attend the party.

It's a lot of people from 3000 hotel rooms and villas using the same monorail line to head to the MK during the same window of time.

Earlier on in the thread I posted a photo and some feedback from friends who visited GF yesterday, 12/3, which was also a MVMCP night. They confirmed that the monorail was a bit backed up at 5pm but they walked right thru security and boarded the next train at 6:30.

Last week was that perfect storm of holiday week and holiday party. Yes, I'm sure there were some non-guests at the resort viewing holiday decor. But it's just not the same as an average Tuesday in February.

Bus, train, boat. All are choke points of entry. Anyone can walk to gf and in the absence of building a wall no way to monitor walkers

But this is exactly my point. This isn’t an average Tuesday in February. Or even Halloween night heading to MNSSHP, waiting for the second monorail (this was us last year at GF). There is a clear difference between this season and any other. I’m not asking Disney to make this change all year round if it’s not warranted but it is different enough for these 5-6 weeks that maybe some added support (if not a priority lane which I don’t particularly find to be that big of a deal, then absolutely extra (not shared) busses and boats and maybe leaving a cabin or two free on the monorails for the Poly and GF) could make a difference. Again, they make exception for the 4th of July at the Poly to make the experience better for the on property guest. What makes this different? And that decision actively kicks out other guests from shared public spaces, which I’m not even advocating for.
