Grand Floridian Private In-Room Dining?

I called the Dining Plan number and they said they have nothing to do with this. The Disney site offers very little information about it, but allears.net has a description that sounds just what I'm looking for. It claims that I can order food from any restaurant in the GF (I'm assuming this also means Victoria and Albert's) and have it either sent to my room, we could get it aboard a yacht, on float boats, or have a secluded and romantic venue at the GF just for the two of us. When I called GF, they didn't know what I was talking about. I want to know if this is true and if it is included with the Platinum Dining Plan. Any ideas??

When we stayed at GF, my husband called private dinning and had them set up high tea in our balcony while our son nap. Then he had Narcoossee's deliver dinner at our room since our son sleep early that night. We did not have any problems with any request and it was not on the regular room service information. He did call from our room so I don't know if it makes a difference. Read the GF thread and maybe someone can help you out there.

1) Yes, this is included in the Platinum Plan.
2) If you are doing Platinum, you will probably not be doing parks.
3) You need all the other privileges to make it cost-justifiable.
4) Two of the ones to use are in-room-private-dining and V&A every night.

NOTE: For the cost, one should use activities such as para-sailing, golf, fishing, V&A meals, etc. It is the chance to do all the high-priced activities and meals within the cost of the plan. If you take time to do the parks, you actually cannot cost-justify the plan, as you do not have the time for the other activities.

I'm really confused by your response... I plan on going to all of the parks during my stay and I hope to go to Victoria and Albert's once, but they are booked. That's why I was wondering if they are included for the private in-room dining at the Grand Floridian, so I can just order from their menu and have it sent to my room.

I'm really confused by your response . . . private in-room dining at the Grand Floridian, so I can just order from their menu and have it sent to my room.

1) I apologize, as I misunderstood your inquiry.
2) As I understand it, the room service is for restaurant menu items. *
3) V&A does not actually have menu items, as courses are timed.
4) Thus, serving them for room service is impractical.
5) With this being said, it is alwasy worth a try.

* Example: Ordering a steak meal from an eatery is a menu item and could be prepared for a room service tray, where a continuous course meal is more of an event. Plus, I do not know where they would get the manpower to try to serve such a meal. My neighbor is a chef at GF Café and occasionally fills-in at V&A, and had said in the past that V&A isn't on room service.

One thing that may add to the confusion is the term private dining. Room service aka in-room aka private dining is included in the platinum plan. I've seen may people post that they were able to order various things from the GF restaurants for in room dining. As Scupper noted, I very much doubt that could possibly include V&A.

The GF also offers private dining events. These can be located in several places around the grounds and on the Grand. To arrange one, call the private dining # at the GF or call the main GF # and ask to be transferred. I don't know if those events are covered by the Platinum plan. That department is probably the only place to get an accurate answer for that.

Have fun!
