We are looking to book the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian and not sure which is the best choice for kids (7 & 4). We have stayed at both resorts but never with children before. Which one would be the better choice?

You cannot lose with either one. All Disney resorts are kid-friendly. Both have amazing feature pools and splash & play areas. Both have great restaurants and counter service. Both have easy access to the MK via boat or monorail. Personally, I would go with the one where I can get the best price.

We have done both with the kids. GF when they were 7 and 5, and Poly at 9 and 7. They loved both and so did we. I just asked them, and they said GF. "But both are good hotels." (We stayed at Days Inns when I was a kid!!)

I've stayed at both multiple times with DS8 and he really enjoyed both of them! You really can't go wrong either way. My personal preference is GF only because I enjoy having more restaurant choices at the resort and find Gasparilla's to be more navigable than Capt. Cook's. I would pick the one that appeals to you!

Our two last stays were at GF and then Poly. My kids are now 5, 8, and 13. My oldest prefers Poly mostly due to the theming. My younger children really enjoyed the new splash area at Poly but also had lots of fun at the splash area at GF also. I agree with others that I would probably go with the cheaper option because you cannot go wrong either way. I personally loved both but GF may have a slight edge over Poly for me.

Whatever is cheaper...both are good but still vastly overpriced.

Personal preference is the poly but since they are so close you can use either at will

Thank you everyone for your replies. Both resorts are great but I think we will go with the Grand Floridian.
I don't think you'll regret your choice. You can always book an ADR at the Poly so that you get an opportunity to enjoy its atmosphere for an evening. We have the opportunity to stay at either the GF or Poly for an upcoming meeting. Same price for each resort. We chose the GF, but only because the meeting is being held in their convention center. I would have been happy with either one of the resorts.
