Hi All!
Longtime lurker first time poster. I have a question, my partner and I are getting married in September and as a gift my father is giving us three days at a club level room in either the Poly or the GF. My partner and I are torn on which one to choose. We're more ~adventurous~ people in food tastes and aesthetics but like the live music at the GF.
So my question is, what are the pros and cons of both resorts? Have you found one club level experience better than another? Is there specific romantic stuff offered at one resort over another?
Thanks in advance!

Is your CL stay at GF in the sugar loaf building or RPC? If it’s in RPC I’d recommend that over the Poly because of the music. Our room was right above the lobby and we could hear the band every night...it was amazing!

I've stayed both RPC & SL at the GF as well as Poly CL and I love them both for different reasons (RPC & Poly CL, I didn't care for GF SL). I love the tropical atmosphere of the Poly, but being in the main building at the GF is also great. If the choice is RPC and Poly CL, I don't think you can go wrong with either as they are both great, IMO. If it's SL at the GF, I'd choose Poly without hesitation.

If noise bothers you, I would go with GF CL, preferably RPC. The Poly CL building is right next to the lagoon and it is very loud at night with both the EWP and the fireworks.

Grand Floridian (main building, RPC) will have more food options and will definitely feel more luxurious -- my husband and I stayed in a king room, which was beautiful. We definitely felt special.

Polynesian club level is great in its own way (love the view from the lounge), and it's convenient if you're planning on a lot of time relaxing by the pool on your CL days... reserve a patio at the Oasis pool right outside and pop in and out of the Hawaii building for drinks and snacks.

Kinda depends on the vibe you're going for.

My choice would be in the following order:

GF RPC (great opportunity to stay in the main building, food is the best, music from the lobby is amazing, sure to have a balcony)
Poly (wonderful atmosphere at this resort, the Lounge is just wonderful with magnificent view of the MK, Hawaii is a great location)
GF SL (also really good food, lounge is OK at best, location of Sugar Loaf is great, also will get a balcony, but it could be a dormer)

I have stayed at GF non CL and Poly CL.

For me it's the Poly hands down. I did like the GF it didn't feel "Grand" to me. I might have felt that way if I was staying CL in the main building??

The Poly theming is gorgeous, perfect for a honeymoon. I think the CL longhouse Hawaii is a wonderful building. We found the CL staff to be wonderful every time. The food options were always good.
DH does not like watching the MK fireworks from inside MK, way too crowded. The Poly has an amazing view of MK fireworks, they turn down the lights and pipe in the music. Get a snack and a drink and enjoy the CL.
The Poly also has the best location. So close to the TTC for EPCOT travel, of course MK transportation is super simple. We usually had good bus service here and we also like to take a Minnie Van too.

I’m going to say that most will like GF Main Building CL (RPC) over Poly CL for an adults only trip. I love Poly CL, but it’s a popular place for families and GF “feels” like somewhere with a more adult/romantic vibe.

But adults only trips for us usually mean time at Epcot - and I personally prefer access to Epcot from Poly soooo much better than GF, so for us that’s a material consideration.

GF as a resort and GF CL is a more “relaxing” experience than Poly, in my opinion.

Tough call.

100% GF (RPC is amazing and SL a close second).

The Poly is more of a family atmosphere, and not necessarily in a good way, while the GF felt more adult even when there were similar numbers of kids there.

The GF is romantic and the live music in the lobby is amazing. I also felt that the Enchanted Rose bar had a more romantic vibe, as does V&A, although you could enjoy both of those wherever you stay.

Food tastes great at both but in my experience, GF had far more options. Also the "line" at the Poly made it feel like a cafeteria and also made me feel like a hog if I got too much at each pass, with so many others waiting behind me for a limited amount of food. GF longes are more "meandering" and I felt that I could take whatever I pleased each time.

Whichever you choose, the good news is, you are a short walk between the two, so be sure to check out both on your trip.

Congrats on your enagement! Have a magical honeymoon!

GF RPC! have It noted on your reservation that it’s your honeymoon. We stayed in RPC and had a deluxe room, it was amazing. And we loved the lounge in the evening listening to either the piano player or the Quartet. The food was amazing too. I’ve stayed at BC & AKL CL and GF was the best by far.
