We had a fantastic lunch there - best service we've ever had anywhere at WDW. The atmosphere is casual and bright.

We made an ADR for it but the place was mostly empty, but if you know when you want to go it's never a bad idea to make one just in case!

It's always a good idea to get a reservation... however, the Grand Floridian Cafe does do mostly walk ups.

One word "relaxing". We like the GFc mid trip it is nice to go someplace & chill.

Love the GFC! We make a point to go for lunch every trip. It's bright and sunny and very cheery. The Grand Club (I think that's what's it called...open faced club sandwich but much fancier!) is fantastic!!

The Grand Floridian Cafe is one of those "secret" special spots. I don't see a lot of discussion here on the boards about it...but it is delightful. DH and I go there alone for brunch when the kids are participating in one of the kids programs at the GF (i.e. pirate cruise, adventures in cooking etc.). The service and food are excellent. The atmosphere as Kae says is quite relaxing.

I hear they do dinner now...haven't tried it yet though. Here is the dinner menu:
