Today was my morning to call. Got right in at 7 am with no wait and was able to make all my dinner ressies except one. Le Cellier.

I now have that night open for dinner. My sister and husband want to eat at the Grand Floridian Cafe now since we couldn't get Le Cellier, but I'm not too fond of having to leave Epcot, travel to the GF for dinner, and then head back to Epcot for Illuminations. But no other restaurant at Epcot interests her!

So..... I never hear any reviews/comments about this restaurant. The menu looks good. But if it's not outstanding, I really don't want to make the effort. If it's worth it, I'll make the trip over so our parties can eat together, LOL.

However, I do need to make up my mind because as of now, I have no dinner reservation for 9/15.

We ate there mid-May, food was good not great, service was horrible. We got our apps before our drinks, never got refills, was never offered a dessert menu (she told us a few options and had us choose right then), then she stood there waiting for DH to fill out the tip amount and got upset at what we gave her. Of 18 TS meals we had in May GFC is 1 of 2 we will not be returning to. That was just our experience, hopefully we just caught our server on a bad night.....

We're going for breakfast and lunch in September after ready pretty much nothing but good reviews. Don't see many, but we like the menu, the setting, and it is only 1 TS on the dining plan. Search for reviews - almost all of them are good. Sounds like a "hidden gem" for WDW dining.

We went there in March last year for my mom's birthday. The food was excellent as was the service. The was a last minute decision as we had made reservations for Narcoose's on our last day. Then my mom decided she wanted to leave WDW earlier than planned so she could get home earlier. We had to find another GF resturant that could accomodate us on short notice because we had ordered a cake, and this was the only choice. All in all, we liked it and will probably return.

We have always had good food & service at GF Cafe. Would I leave Epcot to go there, no. First keep trying for LeCellier. Have you thought about Coral Reef or Chefs de France.

We went in Oct. and the food was wonderful. I think we all ordered the steak, and you could cut it with your fork. Wonderful flavor, outstanding service. The desert was really yummy.

I make my ressies on the 29th, and I hope that I am not faced with the same problem you are, I am trying to get LeCellier for our Imm. night. If I had not had the Grand FL. Cafe already in our plans for earlier in the week(1st night) I would leave Epcot to go.

Hope this helps.

LOL! Those were MY two choices - What about Chefs de France or Coral Reef? She nayed both of them. What about Cape May Buffet? We could walk there. Nope. :confused3

So, I don't know what to do.

But thanks for the good reviews though! Still sitting here confuzzled, LOL!

we had good meal & good service there for dinner in January.

Not that hard to get there from Epcot - take the monorail to the TTC, then get on the resort monorail.

I would probably not leave Epcot to go there , though, even on the monorail you're talking about as long as 2 hours round trip travel time (first, there's a good-sized hike to the front of the park to catch the monorail, then the same hike back to World showcase to see Illuminations. And if you're very unlucky with timing, you could wait a full 20 minutes for each leg of the trip.)

If they're looking for steak & taters kind of meal, try the Rose & Crown...we had great food there a couple weeks ago. Or Les Chefs sounds fancy, but it's really fairly simple food. How about any of the Epcot resort restaurants - if they want a lot of variety, try the Cape May Cafe at Beach Club...or several other choices over there too that you can walk to (shorter walk than going to get a monorail or bus to elsewhere.) And when you walk back to Epcot, you're right there in the World Showcase for watching Illuminations.

Well, she and I are at odds here. We're just going to have to split up.

I'm going to call and make an ADR for Cape May. She's sticking with making an ADR for Grand Floridian Cafe.

I'll keep trying though for a Le Cellier dinner. That would keep us dining together at least.

Thanks everyone!

Everyone is so nice. I am with you. Let her go there if she wants to.
There are other good restaurants close by, like Blue Zoo and Shula's at the Dolphin, The Flying Fish at BW, Yachtsman Steakhouse at YC. There are so many good restaurants that I wouldn't leave E just to go there. Pick the GF for a different day. Just my 2 cents. :rolleyes1
