Grand Floridian Cafe - Big Group

This trip started out as a "regular" vacation, but has turned into a Disney Wedding! We are so excited! We are now a group of about 20 - 24 people going in June. Needless to say, ALL of my ADR's are now null & void . So, in trying to find a dinner reservation for this large of a group, the only one available on a Sunday was Grand Floridian Cafe. I've never been there. And, reading the reviews, I'm a little concerned. We will have 3 teenagers (well behaved), a 4 yr. old (well-behaved) and some Italian family members that tend to be a little loud (not so well-behaved ) Do you think that we'll feel out of place there? I desperately tried all the "louder, more relaxed" places... no such luck. Will they be snooty?

I don't think it would be an issue at all. The restaurant is a very pretty and relaxed atmosphere. Although, having Italians in the family, they may not care for the menu. I only say this, because I too come from a big Italian family, and they are very picky about food.

Have you tried Narcossee's or Citrico's? They are outstanding options for you.

we were at the gf cafe when there was a wedding party there. they had all ages. if i didn't walk by them i couldn't tell there was a large party in there. they have a lot of choices for food. i think you will like it. thanks, humphrey

Luvmyfam3 How nice that your trip turned into a disney wedding! The GF Cafe really has a very relaxed atmosphere...and it is so nice and has bright and airy feeling to it...

There is a more open area towards the back of the restaturant where I have seen large groups seated in the past...looks like a great spot to enjoy a meal...maybe you can inquire about that...

I dont think a large or noisy group would bother anyone there...

We love the GFC, and have seen several wedding parties there- everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves! I think the menu has something for just about everyone. Have a great time!

Grand Floridian Cafe is the "casual" restaurant at the Grand Floridian and not "snooty" at all. It is on our "not to be missed" list and we have gone there many times for all meals. Families of all ages are there dressed in all varieties of clothing. Try the Chocolate Ganache Fondue.....yum!!!

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement! I'm glad to hear so many good things about that restaurant. After years of owning DVC, it'll be nice to go to a new restaurant myself!

That's an excellent idea about trying to get the back area. I suppose I should call the restaurant directly to see if this can be done.
