Which would you choose to stay at first and why? I have stayed at the CR before and thinking about booking the GF to see how it is. Just wondering what everybody/s opinion is.
I prefer the GF over the contemporary. The contemporary is more bustling and a bit more busy which isn't always a bad thing, but to me I just didn't find it as relaxing as GF. A huge upside staying at the Contemprary though is the walkway to MK. I just really like the elegance that goes along with the GF. I would say however if you do have younger children I think that they would probably enjoy contemporary more than GF.

We've never stayed at the CR, but we love the GF. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, the pools are nice, and there is a variety of dining options. Since you've already stayed at the CR, I'd give the GF a try .

For many years I would have said the GF, however last summer we stayed at CR and I thought the service (in a standard level room) was much better than GF! I was very impressed at all of the little details at CR - big bottles of water in the room that was replaced each day, larger and more expansive toiletries, folded towels on every chair at the pool, someone that came around the pool with cool towels, fresh fruit, sunglasses wipes, etc. every afternoon.
We have stayed at both and definitely prefer the GF over CR. I mean, the walk to MK from CR is awesome, however, we just weren't wowed by the resort at all.
Now, the GF......ahhhhhhh, it was glorious. The room was big and beautiful. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was just wonderful. A true resort.
I'd definitely go GF over Contemporary. Love the entire atmosphere, especially in the main building, and the boat to MK is a great way to start and end your day.
We've stayed at the GF, albeit many years ago, and we are booked at CR in August because DH wants to try it. I'd personally choose the one you've not stayed at before. How will you know what you like best if you don't sample them all?!?
You should try the GF if you haven't. My favorite is the CR but we stayed a few nights at the GF last summer. It's a beautiful resort and the room is certainly comfortable and spacious. I'm not so much a fan of the florals and color scheme and it seemed a bit stuffy to me. I like the hustle and bustle, the rooms, and the walkway to the MK that the CR has. But even if you end up preferring the CR over the GF, I think you'll have a great stay and enjoy the resort. I'm glad we stayed there and I'd certainly go back but the CR is still my favorite.
Have stayed at both. CR was 3 weeks ago and we loved the experience. The monorail...right there. Very nice.
GF 2 years ago. It is beautiful. A very charming experience. Next time will be the GF for us it is my favorite.
We haven't stayed at either, but years before I'd even gone to Disney, the Contemporary was where I most wanted to stay (though WL has since taken its place on my list!).
However, if I was in your situation, I'd stay at GF just to try something new.
We have stayed at both many times (Contemporary more times) and LOVE the Contemporary. Planning on staying there in Bay Lake Towers in June. We have also stayed at the Poly many times and we didn't have anything bad to say about any of the monorail resorts but we love Contemporary and Poly before the GF. Can't go wrong at any monorail resort. Enjoy.
