Hello All!
My wife and will be arriving soon for our first stay at the Grand Floridian. It will be a trip without the kids and are very excited. We have a standard room booked.

I have a question regarding a room request that I would like to make. We would like a room with a king size bed with an Alice In Wonderland theme. Can someone suggest what building I should request?

Thanks in advance!

I think Conch is the building with Alice themed rooms, but I believe the GF has just begun renovations and I think they started in Conch. It doesn't hurt to ask when you check in, though.

Big Pine Key - the building closest to the beach - has the Alice theme. The best garden-view rooms here are closest to the main building - the room numbers end in 02, 04, 06, 08, and 10. These rooms have a good view of the main pool. Some of the other garden-view rooms in Big Pine Key look onto the back of the pool bar.

Can someone explain the best way make specific requests for room preferences? I saw on another site to fax the hotel directly four days in advance, to the attention of the "room assigner". Any tips here?
I am staying at the Grand Floridian last week in August.

Thanks!

Honestly, right now with the renovations having been started, requests are going to be tough. I'd keep it as simple as possible and have it noted on your reservation. With rooms being taken out of inventory, you probably aren't even going to know what's available until you actually arrive on site.
