My husband and I are thinking of taking a trip to California next summer. I was wondering what people thought of The grand Californian? Is it worth the cost? How many days do you think we need to see both parks? Is one day at each park enough? Thanks for the help. :yay:

I always suggest 3-4 days to do everything in the parks. If you don't want to do everything you could "get away" with 2 or 3. :) The GCH is gorgeous...the rooms are nice, the staff is awesome, I LOVE the lobby.......We stayed there once, loved it!!!!

Next summer Carsland is due to open. (More to see) Even now I think 4 days minimum and we are going for 5 days/6 nights this summer. I'd try for at least 4.

We have never stayed at the GCH. We would love to sometime but we would rather spend the extra money to stay more days. One of these days... :goodvibes

However, one of our favorite lunch spots, Whitewater Snacks, is in the hotel so we visit every trip.

Also, DLR vets don't think of it in terms of how many days for each park. We park hop numerous times during the day, collecting FPs for both parks. For example, we get to DL at 8am, stay until midmorning, maybe 11. Then hop over to DCA for a while. Then head back to DL to use a FP or two from earlier, back over to DCA again, and then have dinner in DTD. We are pretty much all over the entire place everyday. Carsland may change our hopping pattern next summer, we will have to see. There may come a time when we start our day at DCA. But I know we would never stay in one park only all day.

Great hotel and the flagship resort hotel of Disneyland. It has the best location for proximity and views. You can't go wrong with this hotel. It is pricey but to me worth it especially if your on vacation or don't visit very often. The lobby has one of those jaw dropping experiences. The chaisse lounge chairs at the pool are amazing.

I recommend 4-5 days to fully do the whole resort. We went in July last year and did 6 days because we knew it would be busy. Next year is going to be crazy. We like to package our time with time at the beach, make the vacation even longer and visit other California cities, or national parks. Yosemite National Park is a MUST DO if you ever get the chance.
