hi again

As part of our upcoming vacation, we are staying the last six nights at the Villas at Grand California. As many of you know, DH (Steve) has ruptured his achilles and is currently on crutches.

I had bought him a wheelchair for our trip, but now that he has an airboat fitted, he is doing rather well walking around and he is telling me to send the chair back!:faint::thumbsup2

But being the worrier/planner that I am, I can't help thinking that Disneyland all day on crutches is a little ambitious (he keeps reminding me that that part of the trip is still three weeks away!).

So..... I've been reading about hiring a wheelchair there, in case he does actually find it too much:rolleyes1, and whilst I know if you rent them in the parks they must stay in the parks, I see that you can also rent them from the Grand Californian Hotel, so I was wondering - does anyone know whether those rented from there can be taken INTO the parks? Or how about to journey up to the Garden Walk area for an evening meal?

Just trying to weigh up our options, before I agree to sending back my wheelchair purchase!:thumbsup2

Many thanks for any advice:thumbsup2

That is a painful ailment!
I believe you have more leeway where you can take them if you get them from the GCH. The only issue is that they have a limited number and cannot be reserved ahead of time. If you find they have none available, there are outside companies that will deliver to the hotel.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to post such a comprehensive reply - I really appreciate it.:thumbsup2

I will save this info, incase we find that a wheelchair is necessary in the next few weeks. :thumbsup2

Thanks again
