I really have skipped over posts on the Grand Californian Villas until I just found out that there's a Food and Wine Festival going on during my anniversary (May 16th). Anyone predicting the availability of 7 month reservations at this new resort...do you think it'll be as popular as BWV & BCV during EPCOTS Food & Wine Fest?

Thanks!

You should be able to get in as long as you are not booking a full week. If you are looking at just a couple of days should be fine...but I would schedule right away. I just recently booked a studio at the GCVs for DEC.

I have to say that this is really awesome news! You were booking with points right?

There are only 48 total rooms so it might be tough, plus they are not all declared yet. I think only 23 are lockoffs, which means only 23 1 bedrooms or studios when fully sold.

I'm also booked for mid may next year...thought Food and Wine would be neat..and now World of Color will be running hopefully too..whoohoo

food and wine at DCA is nothing like epcot's food and wine, it's much much smaller.

Food & Wine at DCA has always been fun, except for a huge change they made this year. The food samples used to be gotten at one place. This year each food samples were full size items, and were at a different take out, or restaurant. That meant you stood in line with others getting non Festival menu items at take out etc. Lobster rolls at Award Weiners, another item at Taste Pilot's Grill, so on and so on.
I made a formal comment at guest relations, and they hinted that many others had the same comments I did, especially about the items being full sized lunch entrees, not samples.
I think it may have been a bad choice at refining the event, as they continue to try and enhance, and expand it every year. Hopefully they will continue to refine the Festival at DCA.

unlike phased construction at some of the larger DVC resorts, All VGC units have been declared. In fact cast members are testing them as we speak. Since all units are not sold, and May is a low season month, I think you have a great shot at getting in at 7 months. I booked opening week at the Grand 3 months ago on SSR points and had no problem getting a room. I will be checking in on the 23rd (Wednesday)! Good luck!

Hey dwelty, I will be there on the 23rd as well. I was able to book a one bedroom mid-August.

Just today, I was able to book a studio for Sunday, September 27. (I just found out my kids have 9/28 off from school) Now I don't know if that was luck or if is because not all units have been sold. I don't think I would be able to get that again on such short notice, especially for a studio.
