Grand Californian or Disneyland hotel?

There is a possibility that I may be going to a conference at the Disneyland Hotel the summer. It is only half days which allows us time to explore the parks in the afternoons. I can't decide which hotel to stay at. The conference is actually at the grand Californian but I've heard such good things about the Disneyland Hotel. I've never been to either one or to Disneyland. For those of you who have been to both hotels which one would you suggest?

If you are at the Grand for the conference stay at the Grand hands down. DL Hotel is great (I like the Grand better for adult trips) but the benefit of the Grand is its proximity to the parks to get in and out quickly if you are just doing a few hours a day.

I have stayed at all 3 Resort Hotels and suggest you stay at the GCH. You will probably be getting convention rates which may be the best discount out there. You may never get a chance at those low prices again. You can`t beat the location. Google a satellite view and see for yourself

We love the DLH and stay regularly at all three but for your situation I recommend doing the Grand too. Plan to book a private cabana one afternoon at the DLH pool - the pools are probably the best part of the hotel.
