Now I've finally decided to stay at this hotel - thanks to lots of you for your advice and tops - I am wondering when rooms will be available to book for August 2007?

Also, is there ever an AAA rate available during August, and if so, how would I find out about this?

Thanks :D

I call the number from the GC website. I booked room and tickets only for Christmas week and I got the AAA discount. They asked me if I belonged to AAA so just ask. Good luck :)

You made a great decision. We LOVE the Grand Californian, and always try and stay there whenever we go to DL. I am a Grand Californian lover!

I was also wanting to book us our hotel rooms for September 2007, so it is good to know that even though the website doesn't have it available yet, we can try calling. Room and ticket only, that sounds like a package...can we do that this far in advance? I want that AAA fastpass!! :teeth:

GailT - glad to hear you got your Christmas booking sorted with the AAA rate, I will give them a ring and see how far they are booking ahead - thanks. :thumbsup2

Michelle2 - nice to hear from a GC fan, it certainly looks a great hotel, and it was it's location that won out in the end over the DL hotel for us. What is the AAA Fastpass and is it only available to US bookings, as I am from the UK?

If you call AAA and book a package through them you get the discount on the room portion plus you get the enhanced Fast Pass feature. That allows you to hold fast passes for more than one ride at a time. We LOVED this feature at DL a few year ago.

my3kids - sounds great but I think it's only available to AAA members in the United States, as I can't even access the website, they ask for a US zip code. The UK website has no facility for booking packages. :(

If you have the equivalent to AAA in the UK, you should be able to book the packages through their offices. I'm in Canada, and our CAA website also has no information on Disneyland. But, I did get information on Disneyland packages through my local office. We can purchase the "packages" but not tickets only. Basically, the Canadian reps contact AAA and book through them on your behalf. The brochure is the American one, and you have to pay in American dollars (converted).

You'd have to speak to your local reps to see if they would do the same. I thought the prices in the brochure looked pricier than Disney on-line. You do get the Fastpass perk, and unlimited parking through AAA. It didn't seem worth it to me. I like to plan on my own -- A-type personality :teeth:

amw - thanks for that info, I may see if the UK AA have such a service, but I suspect they do not, and from your experience I may be better just ringing Disneyland reservations, thanks for your help.
