I'm probably going to Vegas next year and am thinking of swinging through Disneyland before heading home (to the East Coast). I know what to expect there since I went for the first time this past February so I was thinking of getting there early, staying one night at the Californian and heading home the next night.

Can you even get a theme park view for one night? And is a theme park view worth it? Is the Californian worth it? I just like the idea that it spills right into the park and that's right in the middle of everything. But cost is obviously an issue, even for just a night.

Of course you can stay in a theme park view (or any) room for just one night. But I don't think I would fork out the big bucks the GC demands for one night if $$ was an issue. To me the Grand is to be savored and enjoyed for a multi day vacation. But others may disagree. There are many inexpensive options across the street you could check on. Good luck deciding. :)

P.S. We have stayed there twice, once in off-season at an AP rate of $199 plus tax and once in June for an AP rate of $289 per night - this trip we did get a DTD view room, it was awesome!

I think if I was going and just staying one night and thought I would never get back to DL again I would do it but that is just me. No matter what you do have a great time when you go. :santa:

That's the thing. I went this past February in what was an entirely impromptu attachment to my fiance's work trip to Anaheim. I didn't think I'd really ever get around to it (since I favor WDW). And now i'm staring at a potential Vegas trip next year and think it would be cool to stop over again. I just don't see myself getting out there again for a long time.

And i could never afford the Grand Californian for an entire week and think a one night stay is perfectly suited for a one- or two-day visit. My thing was when I tried to quote a price for a one night stay through the official site, it only gave me City view and wouldn't allow me to change the parameters of my view, prompting me to post this thread about whether it's an option!
