Grand Californian connecting rooms

I called today to see about reserving two connecting rooms for our family at Grand Californian for November, and I was told that they couldn't guarantee connecting rooms; we could request it, but that was it. The whole point of getting two rooms would be the connecting door - our kids are too young to be staying in a totally separate room. My question - if we make a reservation requesting connecting rooms there, what are the odds of actually getting them? Is there some sort of secret, like checking in early or having an AP (which we don't have)?

Also, does anyone know if any of the other Disney properties guarantee connecting rooms?

Check in early like 6am....... You rooms won't be available but they could assign them for you

I think they will do everything to accomodate your request.

I was there in June and the hotel was fully booked. I made the same request and got similar respond.

On the day of arrival, I called from the airport at around 2:00 p.m. for telephone check in and they said the room was ready and they are connecting rooms.

Note: for one room we requested a bunk(with 5 people) and the other we request 2 Queens.

Have you considered the 2 bedroom suite ? it might not be that much more expensive depending on your timing. We transfered to a 2 bedroom suite on our 2nd day.

We were told the same thing during our trip in December, but ended up with adjoining rooms. I would just let them know when you check in that because of the children you NEED adjoining rooms. They really do everything they can to fulfill all requests. Checking in early (or at least calling the early the day of check-in) will probable help.
