My husband and I will be going to Disneyland for the first time ever this June for 3 nights. We are tacking this trip onto the end of a family reunion trip in San Diego, so 3 nights is all we can do. We don't have any children.

We are Disney Vacation Club members and are using points to stay at the GC for 3 nights in a preferred view room. Now I am second guessing myself and wondering if I should have booked the concierge room. This is probably a once in a lifetime trip to DL for us. I don't mind spending the extra DVC points, if it's worth it.

So, what exactly do you get extra with concierge rooms? And to anyone who has done it, is it worth it? What kind of food do they serve and what are the times it is served? Are there any other perks with concierge?

Thanks for any and all input!

The GC has EXCELLENT concierge service, I would go for it. :) The lounge serves continental breakfast, has light snacks during the day and a wine/champagne/light appetizer service in the early evening. I think they have late night cordials and coffee as well, we never seemed to get back there in the evenings.

It's a nice lounge and if you can afford the extra it is worth it. :)

Hi
I am also a DVC member that will be staying on points. Depending on how many points you have you may want to just pay cash for the upgrade if it is available. I looked into staying in Concierge and it would have been another 100 points. (we will be there a week) I decided that I will ask if an upgrade is available at check-in or go without.

This may be another option for you.

Have fun and please post on this site and the DVC site when you return. If you can get any good pictures of the rooms and the resort that would be great. I have been looking everywhere and the pictures are not available.

Thanks
Judy

Thanks Michelle. Is the lounge open all the time, at least for Cokes and coffee, or is it completely closed certain hours of the day?

Judy, it is only 33 more points for us. We are staying Sun, Mon and Tues night and it's 33 points a night currently for what we have booked (park view). To upgrade to concierge is 44 points a night, so 33 more points total for the 3 nights. I just want to make sure it's worth it.

Anyone else have an opinioin?

Renee, if I remember correctly it is open most of the day but does shut down for an hour or two in the afternoon before the evening wine service.

Judy and everyone,

We are going next week on DVC points, and I am intrigued by the idea of paying for the upgrade to concierge...any ideas on how much it would cost to upgrade from standard view?

I can't wait!!! :)

TIA,
Kristin
