...has anyone's kids done this recently?? My kids are 7 & 9 and are going in January. They are both really excited. I'd love to hear some feedback from others! TIA!

My 5 year old daughter loved Grand Adventures in cooking. It is really cute. The decorate an apron and a chef's hat. Then they make a treat...my daughter's group made apple pie. At the end of the class they parade through the lobby and pass out the treats to passersby. They should love it.

One note: my daughter was the oldest one in her class but I still think your kids would enjoy it.

When are you going in January? We will be at the Dolphin from the 12th until 16th.

Graywife,

I was afraid of the age thing. It won't bother my daughter -- she loves to be around little ones and will be an excellent babysitter one day. My 7yo son is the concern! He is shy and gets embarassed easily and something like that will embarass him. I'm actually surprised he agreed to go with his sister. They must really like each other! I can't always tell...

We're going from the 8th to the 18th and we are at OKW. Can't wait!! :Pinkbounc

Never done it...but I did notice at Epcot last week in the "Land" there is a little "chef's" area in the food court where the kids can bake cookies and they get a chef's hat. It's free and is sponsored by Nestle. There are certain times they do it. I know the first time was at 11:30, not sure of the times after that.

My two daughters (5 and 8 1/2) did it about a week ago. Both really enjoyed it. My older one was probably one of the older ones in the class, but I don't think she even noticed.

They made dirt and worms, which I didn't think was too exciting, but they both had a fun time. They enjoyed the whole thing -- making the hat and apron -- cooking -- and giving away the goodies at the end.

All in all I wasn't sorry I signed them up for it. The showed the aprons off to the grandparents tonight. :D

My DD (7) did this in April. The group she was in had a large age range (there were 4 other children her age or older). She had a teriffic time (has already requested to do it again next year).

They prepared Easter cookies and served in the lobby area at the rear of 1900 Park Fare. She still has both the apron (cloth that she decorated) and "real" Chef's hat (paper - folded in a suitcase to fly home).

I don't have a web site so I can't post pictures but we have some excellent pictures. All the staff members were Disney all the way. Our only problem was that I almost gave them my work pager instead of their pager at the end.

I don't think he will be embarassed. My daughter's group was mostly girls (but it had 2 boys).

Thank you all for the positive responses! I'm -- I mean they!;) -- are looking forward to it. Is it January yet??

My older DD did this when she was 5 years old and now is 7 and she still talks about it. Now that younger DD is turning 4 our next trip they want to do it together. I hope I can get them spots for it during the part of our vacation after she has turned 4. *fingers crossed*

When I called to make reservations for Jan - they told me it was for children ages 3 and up. I don't think you need to wait for her to turn 4.

Ok that is good to know....I was figureing they had basicly the same rules as the kids club....I never bothered to check the rules for Grand Adventures in Cooking....my mistake.
