We re looking to book the Grand 1 for the night of our wedding for a Wishes Cruise :lovestruc .

I was just wondering if anyone else did this on their wedding day & could post some pics showing the Grand 1

Also does anyone know the cost of hiring this??
Do you get any drink/ snacks inc in the price or do you have to pay extra for this?

Thanks :goodvibes

Hiya Hun!

I'm pretty sure it was $450 plus taxes for the hour that we hired it. You don't get any snacks or drinks for that price... Those have to be arranged seperately via private dining at whichever hotel you leave from. In fact, as its docked at the GF, i'm not sure if you can leave from any other hotel like you can with a Wishes cruise in a Pontoon but i'm sure someone will correct me. We absolutely loved it... It was a great ending to our day and our guests loved it. We had kept it a suprise from everyone other than DS, who also managed to keep it a suprise, and nearly 12 months on everyone is still talking about it!

I don't have all that many of the interior. I think I might have some snaps that our guests took that I'll upload in a few. There was 7 of us on the boat and me and Mark had the lower deck to ourselves whilst everyone else sat up top with the captain.

Hope you had a great christmas Hun

Ok time for Q overload;)

For those of you who have booked the Grand 1 was this added to your BEO or did you have to book this separtly?

If this was added to your BEO did your co ordinator book this for you?

Is it still 90 days in advance before you can book the Grand 1?

Do you have to pay for the Grand 1 fully upon booking the cruise or does it get paid nearer to the time?

Chilly- Thanks for the info, are these prices for 2009 or were these last year?

Does everyone think its totally worth the money?

Thanks guys :goodvibes

Totally worth the money! We didn't do it for our wedding, just on another trip and it was amazing.

I will look for my photos but for us they picked us up at the Contemporary after we had dinner at the California Grill. Not sure if they normally do that but I don't see why not as they are attached by the same waterway.

I think you will need to book on your own but it never hurts to ask your coordinator and see if they can help. We had a cake and champagne aboard and I know they can do full meals etc.

Do you get an audio feed on there too during Wishes?

Thanks for the link :thumbsup2

Do you think its possible for the grand 1 could pick us up from either the contemporary or grand floridian and drop us at international gateway?

Just thinking if we change our reception venue (which is looking very likely due to dropping guest numbers) We could maybe use this as our transport to epcot for our dessert party???

Do they serve drinks aboard? my minds ticking now and I'm thinking an hours transport mixed with a champagne reception (sounds good considering the blooming coach is so expensive!)

What do you think?

sorry for the pirate: :rolleyes1

That would not be possible because the waterways do not connect... at least I am almost positive they do not.

Thats exactly what i thought too, im pretty sure its not possible. Maybe worth contacting Disney just to 100% make sure though. They maybe able to come up with a good alternative for you :thumbsup2

Aww BOO :sad1:

Oh well sounded good in theory !!!

what resorts/locations are within the waterway the boats travels on? There is an Illuminations Cruise and a Wishes one, is that the same waterway or different? It would be a cute alternative to the coach which is so expensive!

Two totally different waterways.

For Illuminations you have the Yacht and Beach Clubs, Boardwalk, and Epcot.

For Wishes you have the Poly, Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary and Grand Floridian/Wedding Pavilion.

Illuminations cruises are also much more difficult to get as there are only a few boats that can fit under the bridge for viewing where as for Wishes a lot of boats just hang out in the water surrounding the area.

You can use the breathless at SBP for your exit etc. The best thing is to ask Disney because there are many options.

Just looking for some more info on booking the Grand 1... has anyone had trouble getting it booked? I would hate to have my heart set on it and then not be able to get it 90 days out and have to devise a whole new plan at the last minute!

Also...does anyone know the exactly how many people are allowed?... I've read anywhere from 12-18. Does it feel crowded if you are at the upper limit and was there enough room for everyone to watch fireworks? Thanks in advance!

It might be difficult to book. I think it really depends on the day and time of year. I would definitely come up with a back up plan and do a lot of researching on how to book it etc. Try practising and calling the day before just so you know the prompts and call first thing in the morning.

Do you have 18 in your party? Are there children? I think it would be slightly crowded but it would work. I have only ever had two people on the Grand One.

The Wishes cruise isn't just your party? You have to share it with others (strangers)?
