We are currently book for December at All Star Movies on arrival night and Gran Destino Tower the rest of the trip. With Port Orleans opening back up we can stay at French Quarter Garden View for $200 cheaper total and not change hotels. What would you do? Gran Destino seems nice, but FQ seems to be more "Disney" In the end we are park people and spend most of our time in the parks.

Gosh, those are like apples & oranges to me! But if you aren't going to spend a lot of time at the resort, then I would likely go with French Quarter, especially since it means not having to repack up an extra time! You can always go to Gran Destino to eat or something like that if you want to check it out. :)

I would pick French Quarter......I think Gran Destino Tower is awesome but not "Disney" to me. It would be great in Vegas or somewhere else.

Love, love, love French Quarter and I think it wastes time moving to another resort. Either way, though,
two nice resorts.

Agree that they're apples and oranges. If the "Disney" feel is important to you, then I'd lean toward POFQ. It's a really cute resort and the theming is excellent. Plus, if your main focus is parks, then it's probably worth saving the $ and hotel transfer time. Having said that, GDT is one of my favorite spots on property, and I have a hard time recommending against it :) We prefer it to many of the Deluxe resorts!

I love both- but Gran Destino is just so beautiful and feels so luxurious.

One thing I love about POFQ is the boats to Disney Springs. When I stayed at Old Key West in March the CM there told me they didn't expect the boats to run again because there isn't any security screening on the boat ramps at Disney Springs. Seems odd to me because you could arrive at DS via Disney bus (or walk from Saratoga) and not go through security. So- take it with a grain of salt. But I sure do hope they reinstate the boats once Port Orleans reopens!

We just had the same dilemma, we have reservations at GDT in November, but my home away from is reopening up FQ. We talked it over and decided we would give the tower a shot, as I had already booked CSR for January, but I changed that this morning to FQ. We would let FQ iron some of the reopening wrinkles as it is 12 days from their reopening to our trip.

Thanks for the input. We decided to transfer our reservation to POFQ as moving resorts was not something I really wanted to do. Saving a couple hundred dollars was also a nice bonus.
