graduation gifts

My DH is going to graduate college in December and I don't have any idea what to get. Since we have a joint account, money would be pointless. I'm sure we would go have a nice dinner but what could I get? When I graduated, everyone just gave me money. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe a nice watch with his graduation date engraved on the back.

I would suggest a nice watch or something along those lines, if you think he would like it. Also, a nice memento could be something from his college, like a paperweight with the college or a nice mirror or picture of the college.

Or, if he is in some line of work where you could get him something he needs...like a stethoscope or some kind of tool...

I agree. If your DH wouldn't like the watch idea, I think something for his line of work would be nice. A lot of my friends who graduated were going into teaching so I had gotten them teaching supplies.

Another idea is maybe for some special item that he has been drooling over but he won't buy for himself.

What a great idea! I think the thing that he will appriciate most is being with you-- how about going to a romantic dinner and a movie?

Or ------ if he's a suit and tie kind of guy a nice set of cufflinks and a tie tack would be very appropriate. Maybe they could be engraved.

I am back in college as an adult and my drooled over thing I would not buy for myself, but might just get for myself as a graduation gift, is an ipod. Another idea would be a blackberry/palm pilot thing.
