hi all.

we were trying to decide between going the last week in april (while grad nights are going on, apparently--MK is open until midnight sat-wed. while we'd be there), or the first week in may (the opening of the 50th an. of disneyland is on the 5th- that wed. we'd be there).

anyone have any thoughts on how these might affect attendance during the days? we have 2 yr. olds, so we won't be out late. we have reservations at the POLY for the first week in may, but we're flexible with our schedule...

thanks!

Sorry I don't have an answer for you. Instead I have a question.....

Where did you find park hours for the end of April already? We will be there the 17th thru the 23rd & I was waiting for hours to come up before planning my park days.

Can you help me?

We went the first week in May last year and it was great. I know the celebration will be on this year but remember schools are still in session so I would think the weekends would be more crowded. If I understand things right the celebration will be going on all year. It is just the kick-off week. We have chosen to go the second week in May this year with hopes that the crowds won't be that much different. I guess we won't know till we get there. I have a heard that MK has closed early for some of the grad noghts. Only open to those in the ceremony. I would definetly check into that before making a decision.

the last week of April is also still spring break for some so they will be there also.

The official hours for April have not come out. The projected hours on DIS, which the OP was looking at, are not reliable. There's no way they are going to be open until midnight for all those dates at the end of April. They probably used dates from a year when Easter was that time to make their projections. Saturday nights April 22 & 29 are Grad Nights, so MK will close at 7:00pm. Looking at last year's hours, I would guess 9:00 or 9:30 on the other days.

thanks, everyone, for the responses and debbieb, for pointing that out about the times...i was thinking i got them from the official website, but so glad to hear they weren't ( i was flipping back and forth between sites at the time)!

sorry if there was any confusion!

Wow, I am glad you asked this question. I was thinking of going the last week in April when my kids are out of school but the MG closing early at 7 on a Saturday is really disppointing. Any other info anyone has, please let me know. thanks, Carolyn

I go early May (late April) every year for more than 10 years now and have found the grad nights have no real affect on the parks. However, I will be there for the 05/05/05 kick off and am preparing for larger than normal crowds. Everyone is coming....are you?

We have also been there numerous times during Grad night. Only once did it affect us. We stayed at the GF in main lodge concierge and could hear the music and teeny bopper screams come across the lake. It was enough to wake us up but fell back asleep very quickly.
That was on a Friday night and we did not wake up the next night. If your staying at the Poly and have a lagoon view you may hear the noise. Depends on how much of a deep sleeper you are.
