Have any of you who do not live near WDW allowed your child to go to Grad Night? I'm mulling this over now and have to commit by Monday. I really want to let him go b/c I think it would be wonderful, fun lifetime memory. I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around paying $550 for a three-night, quad occupancy trip to the All Stars, though! We've got to work out how much he would pay himself and how much DH and I would pay, too.

I went to grad night but it didn't cost me nearly as much because we lived in Tampa. It was a great night with friends and if it is financially possible I would say let your teen go.

everyone i've known who did it (and is'nt it only for one night-why the three nite stay? are they adding day trips to the parks?) hated it. too crowded, only got to ride a few rides-had to stand in lines for hours for those-waited forever for food at concessions...also some complained of having to deal with drunks who had snuck in alcohol and ended up puking on them. most i know say in hindsight a trip with friends on a non grad nite would have been much more enjoyable and less costly.

in our area the kids did grad nite at disneyland-and most went by bus traveling all day-doing grad nite-traveling back the following day. the schools did not allow days off from class for the seniors to participate (it was always held around finals and the kids that went were exhausted to say the least).

p.s.-550.00 for a three nite stay in a quad room? is this price for the entire trip (travel, entrances and meals)-if not i question the operating expenses. seems like 3 nites at a cheap resort running 2200.00 is not normal (i would assume all 4 guests in the quad room are paying 550.00 each).

im going to Grad Night with the rest of my senior class, cant wait. My total cost was somewhere around $475-$500. We are going to be in WDW from May 3-7th. :teeth: :goodvibes :wave2:

That price does include a couple days of parkhoppers, most meals and transportation. Only about 50 kids seem to be going, but they're the kids you would want your child to hang out with it. You had to have a gold or silver Renaissance Card (essentially B honor roll and no behavior problems) to even be eligible.

its the same way with the kids from my class that are going. We have about 45 kids going but they are all good kids if you know what im trying to say. That they dont do anything bad and that they wont do anything stupid for attention. I cant wait, its going to be memories for a lifetime :)

I went to Grad Nite -- was a one day thing, from Vero Beach --

If you are able to send your child I would :thumbsup2

 I remember working on Grad Night when I was in the College Program. My shift was from 11pm-7am! I had to do this 2 days in a row. Then the 3rd day I had to work at 7pm. They treat the CPs so well.

I worked at the Emporium. I remember we had people standing guard at the door. Kids were not allowed to come in unless the were up to the "Dress Code" of Grad Night. Boys had to have on a tie, and shirts tucked in. We were one of the few stores open that were selling Grad Night merchandise. Apparently at my register kids were saying the line was 30 minutes long. I have never seen the Emporium so busy!

But I think it would be a fun experience to attend. And $550 isn't that expensive for a trip to WDW! You should let him go! :cheer2:

I went when I was in HS - from Jacksonville, so it was a one night thing. It was awesome - nearly 20 years ago! The dress code was in effect then.

Of course, those were the days of moonlight madness at the fair (overnight), grad night - overnight - I don't think I'd let my kids do that now!

Back in 1984, I went to GradNite. It was a one day thing though, since we are in FL. Ok, so I looked in my album and the price of the ticket was $14 and the cost of the trip was $40, yes I still have the ticket and payment receipt. :teeth: Prices sure have gone up! :teeth: I had a fun time with my friends.

I would let him go, kids with behavior problems are usually not allowed to go on these trips.

Another Florida girl who went to Grad Nite 20 (okay, 21!) years ago! It was a lot of fun and I don't remember anyone getting out of control. WDW also used t close (maybe they still do??) for Valentine's Nite...went to that and saw a bunch of hair-metal bands...
Thanks to the o.p. for bringing back good memories...now my DH wonders why I am smiling, haha!

So, how much is a one night pass for Grad night? I'm sure my daughter will be asking to go at some point.
