Gotta love bounceback! 10th ann. & family vaca PTR-9/201o-WE'RE BACK!

While I'm sorry to hear that Joe has to have surgery, I hope he'll see a quick and significant improvement. It sucks to have issues like that when he's so young!

I've never had a flight change times after I bought tickets! Is that common? Okay, maybe it's because we never purchase tickets more than 3 weeks before a trip. By then, maybe they have the schedule finalized? I'd be mad if they were cutting my Disney time, too!

I emailed my TA about MNSSHP dates, I will let you know what she says. We are planning the 14th as well! :goodvibes: It seems to be a date that will be offered.

Thanks! I can't wait to get these tickets purchased!!

Thanks. He is young to have to go through all of this. They were hoping to put this off and to not have to do for quite a while. We will find out details in the morning.

Ugh, Continental does it EVERY year out of Cleveland. It is annoying! They have the best nonstop flights from here which is why we fly them. It's also a HUB so there are more flights to MCO than the other airlines. They change the flights so many times that it makes me nuts! :scared1: One year they cut our trip by nearly a day. We were to leave on the first flight out which would have put us there by 9 a.m. and we were coming back on a flight at around 6 p.m. Turns out we left here in the early afternoon and didn't get there until after 3 and our flight home was at noon. I was mad as a hornet!!!

So my mom told me something that surprised me. Get this.....she said not to get her a ticket to MNSSHP this year!:scared1::scared1::scared1: I'm like....WHAT?:eek::eek: She said that she is going to stay at the hotel this year because it makes for a long day. I tried to tell her that we are not going to a park that day aside from CP for breakfast and then maybe spend a couple of hours at MK. Aside from that, it's a rest day and then we would go to the party. I was so surprised.

Crossing my fingers that they have the Lifetime network! She will undoubtedly want to watch movies, etc. I remember last year there was some reason why she wasn't able to get the station, and in the past, she had been able to. She was like a nut about it!

I was so surprised that she is passing on MNSSHP this year. I never expected that!

Aww thats a shame that your mum wants to sit out the party, but I am sure she will be happy in the room, does WL do room service?

How about this...you still get your mom a ticket to MNSSHP and I will use it. :rotfl2:

Bummer she doesn't want to go! The parties are all so fun.

I don't know if they have room service but we have an early ADR that night at WCC which is nice since that's where we are staying. She can go to the room if she'd like while we take the ferry over to the park.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'd do it in a second if you were going to be there!!!

Oh thats cool, I am sure that she will love having time to herself :)

Wow, that's a bummer about Joe's back surgery. My mom had to have back surgery right after our Disney trip in 2007. She complained about back pain and her leg "giving out on her" while we were there - but I'm ashamed to say we thought she was playing it up a bit. She's pretty dramatic! Anyway, about a week after we got home, she had to rush to the ER with a kidney stone attack. They did an xray and the doctor said, "Yes, you have a stone - but I'm more worried about this cyst on your spine." He sent her immediately to a neurologist who booked her into the ER the next day. Apparently, if she'd have waited, its possible she'd have lost the use of her leg. The good news is, they want you to walk - A LOT - during the healing process. I think just a couple weeks after her surgery, he wanted her to start walking 3 miles a day! So hopefully Joe's back will be in great shape for the trip if he has the operation in the next couple months.:thumbsup2

 I'll get working on being there.

It sounds like your mom is doing well now. I'm glad that they were able to help her right away and get that taken care of.

Life updates...........

The neurologist said that Joe needs to do some PT first. We're going to see if he regains any strength at all in his leg first before doing the surgery since it is quite invasive. His first appointment is next week. He's got great spirits through this whole thing. He's lost around 40 pounds so far and he feels better. I'm glad that they are not rushing into surgery although he may have to have it after PT. It cuts it close to our trip but the dr said that the recovery time would be about a month. All I know is that I just want him better...do whatever it takes....just want him better.

I am sitting here anxiously waiting for our vet to open this morning. I think Gus has diabetes. :sad2: When we first got him he peed outside of the little box in our bathroom. What was strange was that there was absolutely no odor to it at all. We have never ever had a cat go outside the litter box before. :confused3 He was fine for about a week and then we noticed that he was drinking a TON of water. I mean like every 15 minutes. Yesterday, he peed outside of the litter box again and again, with no odor. I called the vet immediately but that had already closed so I jumped on line and checked out symptoms. I need to get him to the vet today for sure. I'm sitting here wondering if he has had this all along and his last owners just tossed him out because they didn't want to deal with it. :confused3:sad1: He has every symptom though that I read about. So........off to the vet we go this morning.

Disney Updates......

Well, I am really getting frustrated. I actually sent a letter to guest relations the other day. I'm not your typical letter writer but I couldn't stand it anymore. I have not heard back from them yet but I am hoping that someone will be able to confirm to me if we'll get our $150 back from our AP renewal or not. I also tried to get confirmation on a couple of other things that I've gotten more than one answer from when I call Disney.

Also, I've read on another thread about MNSSHP tickets going on sale, etc. and people complaining about the Sept calendar changing on Disney's site. I figured I'd call there yesterday to ask if the dates have come out yet or if they can tell me when tickets go on sale. The answers I got were: No, dates not yet announced and we have no idea when tickets go on sale. Ok, well, isn't that strange how others have said that CM's have told them the answers to those very same questions? I don't know why, but this year is the first year that I have had so much frustration trying to get our trip planned. Which is it? Do we have dates or not? Do we know when tickets will go on sale or not? Why have people make their ADR's 180 days out but have no clue if there are special events during their stay so that they can make educated decisions?

Ugh, forgive my rant. I am preoccupied with life and I guess my tolerance for unanswered questions is just not what it was before. :rolleyes1

It must be a slight relief that he doesn't need surgery. I hope that the PT helps and that it results in no surgery.

I am glad Joe is in good spirits and I really hope you guys can make it to Disney this year

Poor Gus, I hope it isn't anything too serious. What time do your vets open?

I hope you hear something back soon as Disney were out of order not giving you that discount back. What is up with that company lately. All they seem to do now is mess everyone around, charge exobitant prices and not care. Its like there's no magic anymore :(

Can't believe the hours have changed, hope it doesn't affect you too much. I am pretty sure that the tickets will go on sale on 29th. I recommend you give them a call then and see. Otherwise, if I am more successful over here, I would be more than happy to buy some for you

Ugh, forgive my rant. I am preoccupied with life and I guess my tolerance for unanswered questions is just not what it was before. :rolleyes1

Hey we all need to rant sometimes :goodvibes

:flower3:

Happy to hear they are going to try PT with Joe first before trying surgery. Let's hope the PT will work :goodvibes:

I hope Gus is okay. It is so hard when we know our furriebabies need something we can not give them.

Go ahead and rant, everyone needs to at some point or another.

I sure hope Joe's PT does what it needs to do so he feels better and he does not have to have surgery! I sure hope Gus is doing okay too! What did the vet say?

I spoke to my TA--she said that tickets should go on sale on May 1st for MNSSHP. The dates she is working off of are any of the days MK closes at 7. So for our week, it should be the 14th and the 18th. We are hoping for the 14th as it is my DD's birthday.

We are hoping for the 14th as well. It's the best day for us to go.

Life Updates.......

Well, it seems as though Gus probably does have kidney disease. :sad1: I am completely devastated over this. We are trying everything we can to help him. Right now he is on antibiotics and we are giving him fluids under the skin once a day. He hates it! We have to take him back for more blood tests once he is done with the antibiotic and the fluids.

I'm battle what I think is sciatica right now. This is probably the worst pain I have ever felt. I want to cry. This just started yesterday. I went to the dr last week and he gave me something for my bursitis which seemed to help...then this. :sad2:

Disney Updates......

First, I got my park maps! :dance3::dance3: I love these things. I get them every year .... don't know why..... but I do.

I heard back from Disney yesterday regarding my fiasco when renewing my AP's. The lady that called me back was super nice. She told me to look for a refund of around $150 on my credit card and if I don't see it in 1-2 cycles, to call her back. I explained the entire story to her and she said that the policy is that all refunds happen in person however since I was able to get refunds over the last couple of years by phone, she said that she would see what she can do to help me.

Interestingly enough, she didn't know when MNSSHP tickets would go on sale and said that the dates have not yet been officially released. :confused3 This just kills me because there are threads all over the boards where CM's have told people dates. I saw one today where someone said that they tried to buy their tickets but the system would not allow the CM to make the transaction. :confused3 So, what's the deal? How long will they keep us waiting?

I am still waiting on the official answer to how far in advance can I book our Photopass photography session at the WL. Some say 30 days, some say 90. I dunno. The person that I talked to at WL said 30. I guess I will call back at the 90 day mark and ask again to see what answer I get! :rolleyes1

Thanks for listening and reading along with me~

Oh honey, you are not having the best of it right now are you

Sorry about Gus, I hope that the antibiotics and fluids help. Think positive, he looks like he is a fighter and will get through this :goodvibes

I got your PM and will respond more there.

Chin up :flower3:

Oh, poor Gus! We thought one of our cats had kidney disease about a year ago - we were going through a ton of litter and he was drinking so much. We took him in and it turns out he's diabetic. He now has to eat a special food - at $30 a bag, no less, and get an insulin shot twice a day. It was a hassle at first, but now we're just used to it. I wish that had been Gus' diagnosis instead of kidney disease.:sad2:

Poor little Gus Gus! I sure hope it is working for him! Good news for you: AllEars has the MNSSHP dates up with prices. Tickets go on sale May 1st. The 14th is the first date! I am super excited for this. I hope we can meet up either at MNSSHP or another day!

I hope things start going better for all of you. It sucks when things pile up on us.
