Gotta love bounceback! 10th ann. & family vaca PTR-9/201o-WE'RE BACK!

I feel bad that they can't make it. :sad1: We haven't talked about doing it here at home but that's a good idea as well.

I've not seen any photos yet but I hope to be able to see some soon. They were the largest band there with 255 members.

Wow thats alot of band members!

I think you should think about the VR at home, you can make it Disney themed too and for half the cost it would be to do it in WDW :)

I too thought it was 90 days out, but WDWinfo says 30 days, so maybe its changed :confused3

The Preorder for PP is annoying me. I don't like the fact that they said they may or may not send you a code. Your best bet is to work out your 45 day mark and then hope that they send it to you on that day. If they don't then I would suggest contacting them asking them for the code :)

I have been so behind in posting lately. :sad2:

Me too! This time of year, there is so much else to do!

I just read an awesome Disney book called Mousejunkies. OMG, it was hilarious and informative at the same time. It is probably my favorite Disney book so far. It was in the travel section at the book store. If you have not read it, I really suggest it. I loved it!

I'll have to check into that! Just finished "Eat, Pray, Love" and I need a new book.

So it looks like our friends will not be able to join us in Florida. :sad2:

What a bummer! Does that mean you may reconsider the Disney vow renewal?

I know though if you follow Photopass on Twitter they sometimes will give you discount coupons that you can print that way. I am waiting to see if I can get the $99.99 deal again this year for the advance purchase.

Really? I've actually never been on Twitter, but if I'd known you could get coupons that way...

I really want to DIS more and I need to figure out how to find time to do it. You are so right. There is so much going on this time of year!

I don't think we will do the Disney vow renewal due to the price tag. I just can't justify it. If our friends would have come with us, we could have gone to Daytona and done it on the beach, etc. I'm still a bit bummed out.

I joined Twitter after realizing all of the coupons etc. that you can get. I follow all sorts of Disney sites and have found some great stuff.

Thanks to Stefy though I have found a great deal on the pre-order photopass cd. :woohoo:

I have been stalking the airlines for some time now. I was a bit nervous because I could not find flights under $380. :scared1: We considered traveling to an airport about an hour a way to get a flight but that was around $280. Well, persistance pays off. Just for kicks I checked Continental as they fly non stop from here. Woo Hoo! $228!!!! Needless to say I booked all 5 of us on the flights. They times were great. We arrive by 10 a.m. and we do not return home until 3:05. That will give us the morning at a park on departure day. We usually don't leave for the airport until around 2 hours before flight time. It seems to work out for us. I imagine we will be able to be at a park from 9 until around noon and then head to the car. Seems that if we select either EPCOT or DHS it takes us a lot less time to get to the car and then to the airport. Yay! I am so excited. :dance3::dance3:

Score on the bargain air tickets and bigger score for being able to get more time to spend at Disney out of it :thumbsup2

Wow, I am so bad...I feel like I haven't posted on your PTR in a while!

That is so cool about your niece getting to march before Spectromagic. That would be such a fun trip.

Bummer about your friends not being able to make it. :(

I can't wait to read about your trip. Heading to your TR now.

Thanks for reading along with me and sticking with mine. I fear it is dying a slow and horrible death............:guilty:

Things are going well with Gus. He is adapting to life here. We took a few more pictures of him.

Well, I have some news. Not sure if it's good or bad yet. We met with the neurologist yesterday. Joe has to have back surgery......like soon. We are meeting with the surgeon next week to find out the details. I'm a little freaked for a lot of reasons but for right now, all we know is that he has to have it. I have no idea how long the recovery time will be; no idea how long he will be out of work (and what that does to our Disney budget), etc.

So, fingers are crossed. In the meantime I am going with "business as usual" and still going ahead with our plans.

I'm still waiting for the official dates for MNSSHP to be announced. I called Disney earlier in the week and they said still nothing "official."

We did finally get to book our flights which are non-refundable tickets. So far, we have a few things that are non-refundable so here's to hoping that we don't have to make any changes to our plans. :confused3

Aww Gus looks like he is settling in well. Look at him all playfully rolling around :goodvibes

Sorry to hear Joe has to have surgery, I know that was one of the options you were hoping not to have to do. We'll talk more in your PM :)

Gus is settling in well. We just love him! I think though that I want to take him to our vet as well. I know that they took him in before they brought him to us but I want our vet to check him out as well. I don't suspect that there is anything wrong but I want to be sure. :)

I am hoping that once we find out the details of the surgery that I not be as worried. It is the unknown that is driving me nuts. :upsidedow

Continental Airlines has done it again. I believe that this is the third year in a row. They changed our flights! :scared1: Instead of arriving at 10 a.m., we are arriving at 11:30. By the time we departed last year, they had managed to shave a full 8 hours from our vacation. While 8 hours may not be a lot, imagine what can be accomplished at Disney in 8 hours!

Makes sense for you to want your vet to check him out :)

Bummer about your flights, does this affect your plans much this year?

I think we're pretty set on our park days now too. I hope that we have a day or two at the same park(s) so that we can meet. :wizard:

I hope we can work it out! I know how that your dates are contingent on Joe's surgery but I sure hope we can!! :goodvibes

I read Mousejunkies--I thought it was great too!! If you are on FB, they have a page on there too. :( Sorry your friends will not be able to come with you. Wow, what a great experience for your neice. I know my DS marched back in high school but that was a daytime parade I believe. I know they were going to change the parades for the summer, not sure what is going to happen while we are there in September. Did you want me to ask my TA any of the questions you want answers on that you are not sure? Did you see the link come through about pre-ordering the photopass cd? It does not give a date on when it has to be done, other than before you arrive. I am waiting for the MNSSHP dates to be announced, just working off the hours as of now. I think May 1st is when they were available last year.

:woohoo: for plane tickets!! Gus seems to be settling in nicely! :thumbsup2

I will be sending prayers your way--I sure hope Joe's back surgery is successful and he can recover quickly. Was this a surprise?

The flight change doesn't affect too much right now. Last year Continental changed our flights multiple times so I try not to plan an ADR for our day of arrival since we never know what they are going to do.

We will know a lot more on Thursday. I know that Joe is determined to take this trip so we're crossing our fingers. The hope is that they can do this now and he will have 4 months to recover from whatever it is that they do. I just wish I could talk him into a scooter at Disney. No such luck.

I am going to have to look for their page on FB. That book was great!

:( Sorry your friends will not be able to come with you.

We are too but we totally understand. They spend a small fortune going to Hawaii every October for their anniversary.

She had a great time! I am wondering what the new parades are going to be like in September too. I think it will be fun to see things for the first time.

Did you want me to ask my TA any of the questions you want answers on that you are not sure? Did you see the link come through about pre-ordering the photopass cd? It does not give a date on when it has to be done, other than before you arrive.

I did get the link from Stefy for the $99 photopass. I was happy to see that. I also received the link on Twitter yesterday as well. :woohoo:

We did get our tickets last year on May 1st. I am hoping that they officially announce days soon though. We are planning on going on the 14th and if it's the first party, I wonder if it will be crowded or sell out? We have a Wishes Cruise booked on the 17th for our anniversary so we can't go to the party then. I am crossing my fingers for the 14th. Does your TA have any info on when these days are going to be formally announced?

:woohoo: for plane tickets!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Gus seems to be settling in nicely! :thumbsup2

He's a hoot! Last night he was running through the house like a mad man. I have no clue what was going through his mind but he was racing around here like a nut!

I will be sending prayers your way--I sure hope Joe's back surgery is successful and he can recover quickly. Was this a surprise?

Thanks for the prayers. I guess we have known that this would come "some day" but we had no idea that it was progressing like this. They were hoping to stall surgery for another 10-15 years due to his age and the risks but it doesn't look like we're going to be that lucky. :sad2:

Awwww Gus is adorable. So glad he is finding his place with you guys.

I am glad you could book flights but bummer that they changed the time on you. That's one of the reasons we like to drive because we do not have to be at the mercy of the airlines.

Hope everything goes okay for Joe at the Dr.

First off, sorry to hear about the needed surgery. That is a bummer in itself, but of course worse when there is a Disney Trip and airline tickets already booked.

Great for booking the flights, but that must be really frustrating having them change on you. I've only ever flew southwest and that's never happened, but i'd be upset, especially if it is a considerable amount of time. Hopefully it stays where it is for you, an hour and a half isn't TOO bad.

And GUS, is adorable. How nice! I am allergic to cats, I wish I wasn't cause when I see them, i just want to pet them.

Gus is a cutie, isn't he?

I don't think I could take that far of a drive. Joe's back wouldn't make it in the car that long. :sad2: My dream trip would be an RV (with a bathroom, of course). I'd love that. I'd love to take two weeks, rent an RV, drive down there and then camp at Ft. Wilderness. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

We're hoping that the surgery can happen rather quickly and that Joe will be ready for our trip. I'm anxious to find out what the dr. says on Thursday. He is determined to go so we're crossing our fingers.

Seems that Continental changes flights a lot. We flew Southwest from here once but they don't have nonstop flights and we like to take the nonstops. I just hate it when the shave off time from our trip....and it seems like it's an hour or two at a time. :scared1: I won't be surprised if they make 3 more changes between now and when we travel. :confused3

Believe it or not, Joe is also allergic to cats. I keep a super clean house and he takes allergy pills and seems to be fine. It does require a lot of vacuuming and floor sweeping along with keeping the dust down. The one thing I can't do though is brush the cats. When I do that his allergies act up like mad! My mom, on the other hand, is super allergic to the cats and it is hard for her to spend much time at our house in the winter. In the summer we have the doors and windows open so she's able to stay longer.

I emailed my TA about MNSSHP dates, I will let you know what she says. We are planning the 14th as well! :goodvibes: It seems to be a date that will be offered.
