We have gotten a townhouse at Regal Palms for a week in October...does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for our stay? We did read the thread about bringing our own floats (with our names on them) .... is there anything else that would help us enjoy our stay even more than we're going to? We'll probably do Disney one or two days....any good suggestions for dining? Do they have an outside grill area?
Thanks - Barb

I remember there not being much if any products to get you started for your stay, so you will need the basics like hand soap, dish soap, laundry soap, food, paper products (plates and cups if you choose, paper towels, toilet paper), and trash bags. All of this is usual stuff for rental homes.

If I were driving, I would bring beach towels because we had such a problem with the ones provided when we were there. If you are flying, don't worry about.

I don't remember exactly if there were grills or not. There may be charcoal grills in the common area behind the town homes. I would ask the owners.

As for restaurants, there are plenty of restaurants on 192 west. Here are some maps:

I also saved this thread from a while ago with some recommendations:

Right around Regal Palms in the Publix complex there is a decent Chinese place and an Applebees.

We've stayed there several times. Most of the owners provide a grill on their patio. But I would double check with whoever you are renting from.

Second the beach towel thing. They are constantly running short of them at the pool. Better to bring your own. You can buy floats at Publix if you don't want to pack them.

Publix is right there so you can grab food easily. One of our "go to" meals is Rotisserie Chicken and Caesar Salad with a loaf of bread. There is also an Applebees and Chinese Food Takeout place.

I would also check with the owner to see if there is a clock and phone in their unit. Some owners don't have any!! Not a big deal, but kind of ridiculous to not have a clock or phone.

The food at the restaurant there is actually pretty good...but service can be slow. If you are hanging out at the pool and want drinks or lunch, there is a window opening where you can order it. You don't have to get a table.

Have a great vacation!

Don't miss Manny's Chophouse about 5 miles South of I-4 on 27. If you have kids don't miss the kids eat free tuesday and the early bird specials are great!!

You'll probably have a couple small bars of soap and one roll of TP to start so bring anything else you want to pack. I'll make sure to have some comfortable slippers next time. The carpets and floors in the townhouse were a little stained. That was our only real complaint after spending 9 nights.
