Got the Gang Together and We're going to Disney a Sept 2011 PTR

you are so lucky, I am dying to go on a cruise but I refuse to miss Disney for a year so I would have to do the cruise and a week at Disney which could get pretty expensive.

Maybe I will get lucky and win the lottery then I can do the 5 night cruise and 10 days in the world :lovestruc:cloud9:

Missing a week in Disney to do the cruise is the ONLY downside to doing the cruise... But at least we will get to spend a few days in Disney before the trip!

I'm here! I'm so sorry to hear that you are not doing a TR from December! I was looking forward to reading it!!!!!

Sounds like you guys have an awesome trip planned! I wish I could talk my family into going with us to WDW! My mom has gone for the day with Olivia and I a few times, but other than that, nobody is interested!

Can't wait to hear what you have planned!

Hey girl!!! How are you!!! I am going over to your TR and getting caught up it now!

As far a a TR goes, you may just see one from me... I got this awesome idea from a fellow Dis friend of mine for doing a wordless TR! I'm going to let the pictures do the talking so stay tuned, Not 100% sure I'm doing it but something I'm thinking of trying!

Thanks for joining in the fun! I see you are taking a trip down in a few days! So jealous!

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty darn EXCITED that it’s the weekend!!! WOO HOO!!!! :cheer2: I actually have a pretty busy weekend… Devon is in a basketball tournament ALL day Saturday and Sunday, so I wanted to get an update in before the start of the weekend, as I doubt I’ll have time to post again till next week!

Ok, as promised here is the rough draft for our daily itinerary. Now, as I know all you already know, the Sept park hours have not been released yet, BUT… I got my hands on the Sept 2011 park hours that are distributed to the Disney Travel Agents a few weeks ago… So I based our schedule around those hours. FYI, I used the same TA park hours for our Dec trip and found that the hours were spot on!

THE PLAN:

Wed 8/31
~Flight out of PHL @ 8A
~Scheduled to arrive @ MCO around 1030a
~Hoping to check into POP before noon
~Hang at the Resort (swim, etc.)
~Head to DTD for the evening
***would like to eat at WGP Express this night, but we’ll see.

Thu 9/1
~Heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios
~Lunch @ Sci Fi Café (hoping for a ressies between 1245p-2p)
~Fantasmic @ 830p
*** On a side note, I am really excited to be able to see Fantasmic this year, for the last several visits, now that the show is only shown on limited nights we haven’t been able to see it!

Fri 9/2
~Today we will venture over to Epcot
~There should be evening EMH here today till 12M so our plan is to get to Epcot early, head back to POP midday then head back to ECPOT in the late afternoon/early evening.
~Dinner at one of our FAVORITE places in World Showcase Teppan Edo (b/c of EMH we are aiming for a later dinner, possibly around 6:45p)

Sat 9/3
~Magic Kingdom Day!
~Starting the day off with an early breakfast at Chef Mickey’s (well not too early hoping for a 915-930a reservation)
~Possibly a mid-afternoon break back at the resort, then heading back to MK for MSEP and Wishes

Sun 9/4
~Trekking over to Animal Kingdom
~Breakfast at Tusker House around 930-945a
~I typically get done AK in ½ a day, so the plan is to head back to the resort, chill, then get ready for dinner…
~ Dinner is at The Grand Floridian Café between 7-730p
~Head to MK for EMH till 1A

Mon 9/5
~ Today is a free day to visit any and all parks
~Early Dinner somewhere between 5-6p at the Captain’s Grille at the YC
~After dinner planning to walk off dinner with a nice leisurely stroll over to DHS for EMH till 10P

Tue 9/6
~Time to go home! BOO!!!
~ Plan to lounge around the resort till our flight home
~ Flight departs MCO @ 447p
~Scheduled to land in PHL @ 712p

And that my friend’s is the PLAN as it stands now! So… What do you think?

I'm subbing in! Great PTR so far, it sounds like fun. I too, have done the hodge-podge family grouping trip to WDW, and it's fun and interesting trying to appeal to everyone!

We're going in Dec, so it will be fun to see how your trip goes as I eagerly await ours :)

Thanks for joining in the fun! We are very excited to all be going together... Luckily we are together ALL the time as is, so going away together will be no different then a weekend and my parents house! :goodvibes

We were just there for 9 days in December... But of course 1/2 way thru are stay that stupid cold front came into Florida and we froze on tushies off the rest of the trip!

If that's a free day in the AM, I'd hit Epcot for rope drop, walk over to YC from there for dinner, maybe rent a mouse boat afterwards for a half hr, than walk over to HS from there. No time wasted on buses unless you want to head back to the hotel in the afternoon.

Reese, your plans sound great! you seem to have it all fit in...parks, relaxation....
I wish the TA hours for Oct were out, well let me rephrase that I wish I would have come across the Oct hours. I found the for Sept (the first part of our trip), I still need to hours for the weekend.

Have a great weekend! good luck Devon

Great Plans!

We spend way more time at Mk than you but I ahve little girls that like that stuff. We are excited to see F! this trip too! we haven't seen it in 2 years

Rob we will most like head over to Epcot on Monday during the day as that is really the onlt park we aren't going to more then once... And yep, the plan is to avoid having to get on a bus once at the YC... Have you all done the walk to DHS???

I just checked not seeing the Oct hours yet... :confused3 I bet they will be released to the TA's in a week or so. It is about to be March! Can you believe that?? Time really is flying!

Thanks so much!!! Devon won in the 1st round of the tournament yesterday!!! :thumbsup2 Moving onto round 2 today! Matter to fact I am typing this in between games. Next one is a 4!

Great Plans!

You know we used to spend alot of time at MK, but having a boy who is getting older WAY TOO fast for me, we spend more time and DHS and Epcot now. My little guy loves those Thrill Rides!

Yep, not that far really maybe 25 minutes from Epcot to HS and that's with pushing a stroller. If you are in Epcot and don't want to walk the whole way, leave via the International Gateway and walk over to the Beach Club. Go to the lighthouse and grab a ferry over. That would save you about 15-20 minutes of walking.

Also, sent you a PM :thumbsup2

Good to know, I figured the walk to DHS for YC would be about 30 mins. I guess walking or taking the boat will depend on how hot it is out! :rotfl:

Got your PM! Thanks! :)

Good Morning fellow Dis’ers and Happy Monday to you all!!! Well, I don’t know about you, but this weekend FLEW by for me!!! Pretty much my life revolved around a basketball tournament! But… I am happy to report that Devon and his team won in the first round on Saturday, but unfortunately lost in round two yesterday… It is a double elimination tourney, so they still have a shot. They play again tomorrow night so I will keep you all post and will hopefully post a few pics this weekend!

In Disney related news, I received an email from Air Tran changing our flights this morning!!! BOO!!! :sad2: Looks like they just completely canceled the flights that we originally booked, but luckily our new flight times are pretty darn close to what we booked…

As of now our flight to Orlando is leaving 5 minutes later than scheduled, instead of departing Philly at 8A, we now leave at 8:05A, getting us into Orlando at 10:37A.

Coming home, our flight it leaving for Philly more than an hour earlier then what we booked! Instead of departing MCO a 4:47P, we now have to leave at 3:44p!!! ONE WHOLE HOUR LESS to soak up all the last minute magic!!! That just STINKS!!! :headache:

Now, I’m ok with these changes as I understand that these things happen with airlines, BUT, if things change again, I may not be so accommodating!!! Then again if they change to give me more time in Disney, I am A-O-K with that!

Till next time!

I don't know how you deal with flight changes like that... I have never had my flight time change

I swear Air Tran changes my flights everytime I book Nat! But it's usually just by a few minutes so its ok... I'm sure the times will change again between now and aug 31st! :confused3

Congrats! and Good Luck to Devon on the bball tourney. DS18 was a big bball player, he is really missing it this year (his first year he was unable to play--he had been coaching but not the same.)

hoping that the next change (if any) will be to your benefit...

Have a great day!

Thanks Connie!! This is Devon's first year of basketball... He told me he wanted to play this year to stay in shape for baseball and football!!! He's too funny! :rotfl2:

I got an idea how your son feels about not being able to play b/c he's getting too old... My brother Tim was a huge bball player too and I watched him go thru the same thing.

Oh and I'm telling you, if changes occur again and they are not in my favor there is a good chance I will feak out on the airline! Let's hope it doesn't come to that b/c it won't be pretty! LOL!

Hi all! As I’m sure all you fellow September Disney goers know… The “Official” September 2011 Park Hours are out!!! YAHOO!!! :yay: Seeing those hours this morning while sitting on the train heading to work, MADE my DAY!!! :) Even more so when I knew for certain that I would not have to make any changes to my plans as the TA hours were right! One question I do want to ask you all is, is that I noticed that there are NO times for MSEP at MK in Sept? Do you think it’s just not posted yet? That’s my thought, but would love to hear what you guys think! :confused3

Any who… Since stupid Air Tran threw off my Disney mojo, I figured my post today would be about what I planned on chatting about yesterday. SHOPPING!!! :cheer2:

Yep that’s right, I did some shopping over the weekend for both the trip and for Devon for Easter…. So, let’s start with what I got Dev for Easter. When we were in Disney in December the boy became CRAZED with collecting Vinylmations (both pins and figures) and Devon just so happened to mention to me on Friday morning that the new Nerds ROCK Vinylmations were released, so I made a mental note to myself to order them online as soon as I got to work! Of course, me being the scatter brain that I am totally forgot to order them until I read my good friend Hope’s Facebook status right before I was walking out the door to go home Friday night! (Thank you Hope for the reminder) Sadly though, the one I really wanted for him was sold out (Goofy) :headache: , so I settled for Mickey and Pluto. Needless to say I think I will have one happy little Disney “NERD” on Easter morning when he sees them in this basket!

Moving on to what I got for the trip… Well I guess I should really say what I got for the summer, since I doubt we’ll hold off wearing what we bought until the end of August!

Now, I don’t know about you all, but I so cannot wear a shirt with any type of sleeve when in Disney during the HOTTER months so I stick with tank tops. And I got 2 really cute ones at Kohl’s (did I mention I love this store)! Both have a floral print to them will definitely be packed in my suitcase come August. Mr. Devon on the other hand made out like a bandit at the Children’s Place!!! 4 pairs of shorts (2 kaki colored, 1 blue and 1 camo) and 4 shirts later we walked out the store. I must say I was VERY impressed with the clothes that Devon picked out… Once he picked out the shorts he wanted, he picked matching t-shirts for each pair, ALL by himself! What can I say the kid’s got style! :cool2: He gets that from his mama!

Until next time! Peace, Love and Mickey Mouse! ::MickeyMo

Reese,
when I made my reservation, I had asked about MNSSHP and was told the way to tell the night is the nights MK closes early. They will not officially post the dates until later.

I may have to get Ashton a few vinylmation figures; I had bought him pins last year but he only traded with one little boy. thought we would try and get into it more this to round.

great job on the buys! yesterday I hit the online sale at Old Navy (last Sept I bought three pair of shorts from Gap and have kicked my self ever since for not buying all the colors) so, yesterday Old Navy had some pretty close (at least I hope) and bought two more. I bought two dress tanks last week at Ann Taylor and yesterday I bought another sleeveless shirt and a sun dress from Old Navy. If I like the dress I may order two more; I am trying to add to my wardrobe before our cruise and figure whatever I buy I can wear in Sept for Disney.

I bought Ashton two outfits for Easter at JCP and have been picking up disney t's each time I visit the Disney Store (I think he has about 7) and I pick up two pair of shorts each time I go to Walmart. I think he is set for this year.

Have a great day! disneydaydreaming :mickeyjum :goofy:

I think the vinylmations are awesome I'm glad Devon got into trading them, but it is so expensive to do so... I found they are actually cheaper in the Disney store so I been letting him buy 1 a month so then he can trade the ones he dislikes when we go in September. Smart huh? :rotfl:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE shopping for vacation!!! :yay: The only thing I really have to buy for myself clothes wise is more shirts/tank tops. I like being able to have choices on what to wear when I'm away! :rotfl2:

Devon has been growing so much lately that I'm scared to buy him TOO much before summer actually gets here! I can almost bet I will be buying him new clothes for the trip in August b/c he grew! :headache: But on the bright side at least summer clothes will be on sale at that point! :lmao:

I love the t shirts at the Disney store! I told Devon he could pick two for our trip, plus I want to get him a Phineus and Ferb t shirt to wear the day we go to DHS since they now have a P & F meet and greet. Did I mention I love P & F too? Think that may just be the best cartoon out there now!

Happy planning! Reese
