Got the Big Kids for Little Kids prices pin and

booked before the deadline for the Contemporary. The discount, now that I am looking at it, does *NOT* seem to be giving us little kid prices for big kids . The offer does say, "other resorts and time frames" and we are definitely at another resort and going in December but ...

Anyone do something similar and figure out what they gave? Did they give me the discount for 4 days only? A smaller discount? It seems to amount to about $400, which isn't much for 7/6 vacation Maybe I will get a pin for 40% ... no such luck for me, right?

Ok -- here's my best shot at the math. It's about $35 per adult per ticket discount. So that's either $70 for you and your husband, or $105 adding your oldest, depending on when your oldest turns 10. 10 is the new 21 at Disney. . .

The discount on the dining comes to $29 a day per adult. With six nights and 2 adults -- that's $348, $522 with the oldest turning 10 before the trip.

So -- your total discount would run between $418 and $627, depending on when your oldest turns 10.

So -- if you got the 40% off pin, and stayed at the Contemporary for 6 nights -- I'm coming up with about $780 in savings. Yep, much bigger savings for your family. . .

The adults at kid prices is a much better deal for those of us with more than just 2 people counting as adults. You pay full rate for the room so staying at a Deluxe resort is still very expensive with this PIN. A rate discount is a much better deal at a Deluxe.

I'm going in December on the same PIN. My 11 year old normally costs us adult prices but she also gets discounted with this PIN so it's a bigger savings for us than it is for you. That being said, if I got a 40% PIN I'd start doing the math to see if we could afford to upgrade to a Deluxe (maybe even to Club Level) and downgrade our dining (QS at Deluxe, OOP if Club).

Depending on the dates that you're travelling, the PIN does NOT apply to every single day in December. Christmas and New Years are blackout days. I think when I calculated out my price, the rate was blacked out for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This also will make a difference in your price.

My oldest *will* be 10, so we will be 3 Disney Adults and 2 Disney children. So, my discount seems light. Time to call reservations again and ask, I guess.

And since there are 5 of us, the Contemporary isn't really all that pricey -- we are in the Garden Wing ...
