I'm starting to freak out, what if Disney only sends Pin mailers one per household and they think that my dad lives at my house, thanks to me booking our last extended family trip??? This is the first time I've received anything in his name at my address since our January trip, and I didn't receive anything.

Has anyone had this happen? How do you fix it or insure that you're able to use pin numbers that come to your house?

It's just plain torture to get that piece of mail and it's not addressed to you! :headache:

We get them under my MIL's name at our house for some reason. Disney has always let us use them. We've been a number of times and only took her once and paid for everything on our credit card. I'm guessing Disney's software selects the oldest person in the party to mail out to.

weird, weird, weird.

The last time I booked my trip to Disney I booked it at my moms house on her computer. I gave them all MY information, never mentioned my moms name or email address but when all my emails started coming with my confirmations that came to her email address but in my name:scared1:

Our email addresses are nothing alike and our last names are different. Now when I get Disney email, sometimes I get it in my name and sometimes I get it in my mom's name. She still gets Disney emails for me:confused3

This year when I booked my Disney trip with my Pin for 35% off value/moderate, the PIN came to my home email.....I needed 2 rooms so I booked it with an agent using the PIN. She verified all my info, home email address that the PIN came to, etc but then when I started getting all the email confirmations, the emails came to an email address that I use only for communication with my kids school. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN???? That email address was never discussed and it has never been given to anyone other than my kids school. I don't have anything Disney associated with that other email address. All my Disney stuff and my Disney account for disneyworld.com is associated with my home email address she confirmed with me.

It makes no sense to me at all:sad2: How would she have ever gotten that email address?

Once, my friend from Chicago's DME documents were sent to friends of hers who live in Orlando. She has never stayed at Disney with them - they live in Orlando.

I'm surprised they let you use the PIN. From what I've heard, people have been told if it's not in your name, or it isn't your address, you can't use them.

In my case, the PIN was in my name but my friend got a PIN at her house in her moms name and the CM told her as long as her mom is going on the trip (which she is) that she can use it.

My Travel agent just worked on the same situation for me yesturday...mine came in under my aunts name and she never lived in my house before...it worked for me...I would call Disney...they will apply it for you.

Thanks for the responses so far! I had also heard that if it wasn't in your name, you couldn't use it, even if it was your address. I have also wondered about how Disney gets the information. When I got married and changed my last name, I know I changed everything on Disney's website. But sometimes I get items addressed to my maiden name and sometimes to my married name. Even for my last trip, booked entirely in my current name, I was getting snail mail and email to my maiden name about my upcoming trip. I also booked my parent's room, which is how I figured that my dad's name got attached to my address.

If anyone else has used a pin in a different name or been told they couldn't use it, please share your story!

Was your aunt going on the trip with you? It seems like that might be a sticking point?

I booked a grand gathering for my family, my parents and my sisters family in 2004 and then again in 2009. After that I got a few pins in my moms name. I wanted to use one for our Jan 2010 trip and was told no because she wasn't traveling with us this time. Had my mom been going then we could have used it but my mom would have had to do all the booking. :headache:

Now I don't get pins at all in anyone's name. :sad2:

I was talking to a cm tonight and she was looking for pins for my daughter to use on my account and hers, we have the same address but different emails. She was going to use the one that it showed I'd gotten for her trip that i'm not going on, but it's only 10% off and the website deal of 25% off room was better so we went with that instead, of course! But, she said if either of us got, say, a FD pin before the trip we could apply it to her trip! And the cm yesterday said they are still sending them out so keep checking!

The agency booking our trip called Disney and got it worked out...I believe the pins are for house holds. My neighbor got one the same day. I would try calling them!

Good Luck.

I have used pins that were sent to my son in his email. I think you can use them if it is in the same household.

That is what I'm most afraid of! I don't know that I would even want to use this pin, it's only 20% off the hotel, and there are better promotions on the website right now. But what if there's some fantastic pin that shows up in the future and I can't use it? I wonder if I called the number listed, if they would be able to adjust the information in their system to reflect correctly? I highly doubt my dad will be joining us for any trips in the future.

We got a free dining pin in the mail today, it came to my 19 year old daughter who was 15 the last time she was at Disney. :confused3 Weird!

Good luck getting that info changed! I always get pin #'s sent to my address but in my mom's name. I've called every time and asked for them to correct it in the system. They say they do it but it's never correct when I get them. I do think that I used a PIN that was in my mom's name (my address) once, though. She usually goes with us, but that time she didn't Maybe it just depends on what CM you get.
