This is the first time we are flying Southwest and I was nervous about the three of us sitting together. We are flying out tomorrow from Islip at 7:55 pm (any other Disers on that flight??LOL??) - logged on at 7:56 and got the A passes. That was the last thing I need before zipping up the old carryon. Now I can Relax :cool1:

We are flying for the first time on SW on Saturday. I have to get our boarding passes tomorrow night at 4:40, I hope I have as good as luck as you did we want to sit together also. Have a great trip.

Good Luck! I couldn't refresh - had to go into the main website each time. Hope you get A's too, and hope you have a great trip also.

I hope you don't mind if I piggyback on your thread...

Can someone please explain the procedure for obtaining an A pass for SW?

We've always flown Delta, but we are trying SW this time. Is there a trick to getting the A pass?

TIA

Well, there are two ways to possibly get an A designation on your boarding pass.
First, go on line 24 hours before your scheduled flight time to check in. Chances are that you'll get an A designation.
Second, realized that most people don't use the online check in feature and go to the airport early to check in. The earlier you go the greater likelihood that you'll get an A or a B.
SW doles them out so that a third of the passengers get A, a third B and a third C and they generally issue them in order until a boarding type is exhausted.

We have flown SW the last few times from BDL to MCO because of the credits SW offers to re-book flights if a cheaper rate becomes available. But I was a wreck this last booking, because after I booked I was worried about where we were going to be 24hrs out when coming home, so I re-booked for a higher rate and later time so it wouldn't ruin our day before (SW did post lower fares and I received most of it back in credit). I did not care though, there are 5 of us Me, DH, DD 9, DD 8 and DS who just turned 5. I was told once they hit the #5 they will not let you pre-board anymore and I was freaked out about us getting a B or C on our ticket and having to be seperated on the flight. Can't have any of the kids sitting without a parent.
