Got my 2% with the Citi double cash back card

I got my new Citi double cash back card and put almost $400 on it, paid it off in full, of course, and I got back $7.98 for the first statement. I am going to be transitioning to this card from my Disney Visa in the next 4-6 weeks completely and I am tickled!

Excellent work. As long as people pay their credit card bill in full every month there is no reason not to charge everything possible on one of these 2% cash back credit cards.

Does it apply automatically to your next bill or does the cash back accrue and you request it when you want it?

Love ours! We tried one with points for travel, one with bonus 5% spending categories and this one each for one year. We actually got a good deal more back with the flat 2% than even the 5% bonus category card.

And no its not automatic, you just need to go in and select if you want it back in cash or as a statement credit.

I just applied for and received my citi double cash card last week, and am also transitioning my Disney Visa spending to this new card. I actually feel kind of sad about ditching Disney, but profit is profit and 2 % is better than 1 %!! Sadly, too, I think our Disney vacations will be fewer and farther between...we'll be that family that only goes once every five years or so. (Due in part to the recent changes/vibe at WDW and in part to change in our family dynamics, as only child will soon be off to college...) Sniff, sniff...

i got a set of credit cards at 5% categories... thats the best way to do it... :]
