Got excited by the Disney Destinations PIN for 5 minutes

I just received a mailing from Disney Destinations addressed to my mother (who went with me on one trip), but sent to my address. I called and asked if I would be able to use the PIN and was told yes. Okay...looks good so far. The mailing even mentions my possible trip in December. I had saved a trip at WL for December, so was pretty excited that it must have worked to get a PIN, right? Not so fast. The PIN wasn't really a PIN...no discount attached. The price the CM quoted me using the PIN was the same price I found on the WDW website. The CM told me sometimes they just mail out "informational" PINS, such as how much a trip might cost. Oh well, such is life.
