We left out of JFK on American last Saturday on the 7:45 am flight. We used all of the recommended 2 hours...1/2 hour on line to check in and a little over an hour to get through security, it was packed!! Flight was delayed due to Bush flying in for UN meeting so we were lined up on the runway 10 deep waiting for him. We hit an unbelievable air pocket right after takeoff which I wouldn't be suprised if that's what happened to that plane last Monday...we dropped a long way and it scared the crap out of me!!
Got to National at around 10:45 and there were only 2 full sizes and a pick-up on the aisle. There were only 2 more full sizes on that section so we took what we thought was the best one. It was a Buick LeSabre. When we get to Caribbean Beach, we notice a huge nail in the side of the tire. I called National and after being disconnected twice, I finally got through to someone who told us to bring the car to the National right outside of MK entrance. DH drove it there and exchanged it for another Buick with no problems at all. He said the lady was nice and gave him no problems.
The buses from CBR were pretty good. One morning we waited about 20 minutes for a bus to MGM but most of the time it was 10 minutes or less.
The flight home was also delayed...apparently our plane coming in was delayed b/c someone packed baking soda that leaked out near a bag of mail so they had to call in the special units to test for anthrax. They released the plane when they discovered it was baking soda.
So that's my report...have a great trip to anyone leaving soon!!
