Got an ADR for Le Cellier! Maybe we should book the actual trip now - May 2011 PTR

Hello and welcome! Thanks for stopping by :wave2:

I'll have to check out Maya's Grill's menu. I haven't heard of it. Maybe it'll be a contender for a future trip!

I'm torn about changing Le Cellier. It's the thing that got us rolling on booking this vacation and it would still be a good experience. If it turns out badly, we'll just not go back again but at least we'll know and will be able to say we were there. Have you guys looked at the new lunch menu for Le Cellier? What do you think of it? Kind of disappointing, right?

So I know it's been a while since I posted on here. I'm a really bad PTR writer. Unfortunately this is a really busy time for me and I won't have a lot of free time until close to the start of our trip. Anyway, here's what has transpired since last time. We're pretty much set on doing SWW on Friday so we can see it but hopefully with the least amount of people that weekend. I measured my favorite pink suitcase in hopes that it'll just make it under the carry-on measurements. I think it'll be all right! All my packing lists are written up and we went shopping around for smartphones last night as we both have upgrades. I can't wait to play with the Touring Plans app!

Yesterday was exactly 2 months until we're in Disney! Today is exactly 60 days!!

Here's a question for you guys, what's your favorite attraction/ride at each park?

We've never considered Le Cellier ... but that's because we've never been able to book a trip 180+ days out to attempt a reservation. Plus, we have pretty decent steaks around here ... and we like Epcot to broaden our taste buds (which is really making me reconsider Coral Reef). I'd love to try it one day ... but just not anytime soon. :)

Grats on being able to upgrade your phones! I've been playing with Lines and trying to familiarize myself with some of the apps that we plan to use while we're there (better to be trained now, so I'm not confused later, right?).

Grats on your 60 day mark!!!

Hmm... fave attraction/ride per park:
AK: EE or Kilimanjaro Safari for "rides"; Nemo for show (followed closely by FOTLK)
DHS: RnRC for ride; Indy Jones for show (Beauty & Beast is close 2nd)
MK: Jungle Cruise for ride; PhilharMagic for show
EP: Soarin for ride; The British Invasion for show (you can spot me as I'll be the "fangirl mom" in the front dancing away):banana::banana:

Hmm favorite ride... that is really hard because I have yet to do the "big kid" rides -- the first time DH rode while I stayed with a napping DD, the second trip. DH and DSIL rode while DD and I did other rides.

MK: I know I haven't done it yet, but I KNOW that Splash Mountain will be my fav. I love log flume rides! Of what I have done, Jungle Cruise!

AK: Khali river rapids.:rotfl:
DHS: I have not done any of the cool rides.!!!:confused3
EP: Soarin and NEMO!

ask me again after May 22

I think they start the busses 30 min before the parks open, thats a good question cuz could really mess with rope drop plans.

I think buses run an hour before parks open and an hour after close. I do recall boarding the bus and being at the gate 30 minutes prior to rope drop, and that included waiting on a bus that could fit our party. :thumbsup2

You're right, I should get the upgrade now so I can play with the Lines app. The boyfriend keeps saying what's the difference if we just get them right before we go, as long as we have them. But you're right, I want to be a pro at it!

Thanks :)

Re: your rides -
AK: we like the Kilo Safari too. I really want to get on EE but when we were there in 2009, it was tough to get on it without waiting like 2 hours. Any pointers? Should I run to get EE FPs and then get on the safari?
DHS: my goal is to get bf on RnRC this trip! I really enjoyed it when I went with my high school in 2001.. haven't been back since though b/c he doesn't like rollercoasters much.
MK: ooo I didn't think I would get those as responses! I haven't done either.. I'll make a note for this trip. Thanks :thumbsup2
EP: I enjoyed Soarin too. I haven't seen British Invasion but I was a total fangirl with Off Kilter so I know what you mean!

I think this trip you should definitely try to get on the adult rides. It's your turn! I haven't tried Splash Mountain because I hate those drops... I might as well do it just to say I did though!

Kali - I can't WAIT to do this! Last time we were in line and I realized that I was too nervous about my camera getting ruined so this time I'm bringing baggies to put my electronics in!

I'm sure you'll have a great time this trip. Katie is big enough to go on all the rides, right?

Happy Spring! :flower3: ... I have a snow day for my student teaching school today. :lmao: :confused3

So what does that mean?? LESSON PLANS!!

:lmao:

Ok, yes lesson plans, lesson notes, quizzes, tests to write but also CATCHING UP ON DIS!! :woohoo: I get to watch trashy day-time TV too!

I'm off to stalk the boards. Maybe call the tie dye studio about getting them to make us Mickey head tie dye shirts!

57 days until WDW!

The only suggestion I have is to set priorities on your rides. I know KS, EE, and Kali are all FPable. I recommend grabbing a FP for one upon hitting the park, and doing standby for another (if line isn't too bad) or hitting a different attraction. I really don't know which attraction would have a longer standby in the AM. :guilty:

I'm hoping to catch Off Kilter this year! :thumbsup2

Woah ToT?? :scared1: That's great that she's so gutsy. No way are you getting me on that ride!!

YAY so we're now at the 44 day mark! Guess what arrived on day 45? MICKEY MAIL!! It's waiting for me at my boyfriend's house. Between both of our school schedules, I can't get there until tomorrow and it's KILLING ME! :hyper:

Ugh I'm enjoying my student teaching but I'm so over running around between school, college, and work. It's the last month before I'm done though AND spring break is still coming! :woohoo:

*sigh* The "Mickey Mail" that I got was the trifold planning video and WDW intro with the monorail design. boooo! I knew it was too good to be true so soon after our 45 day mark. That just means I get to look forward to more mail!

Today is 42 days away from our trip. That means 2 days until we're 40 days away! That'll be 10 days away from one whole month left! It was a rainy day today, so daydreaming was on full force today. My boyfriend and I have been toying with the idea of getting rid of lunch at Le Cellier since they changed the menu so much I (not being a steak person) don't like any dishes they kept. Does anyone know how flexible they are with substitutions? I was thinking maybe grilled chicken instead of egglant on the gnocchi dish. Otherwise, it's the really expensive chicken caesar salad.

I was observed today for the first time by the principal of the school. I thought everything went well except for the very end when I was rushing to finish a problem and wrote the wrong answer on the board... which she immediately came up and pointed out after the students left. :headache: Spring Break can't be here soon enough!

My Mickey mail is not getting here fast enough for me either. Really hoping it comes this week!

Don't worry about making a mistake like that...even teachers are allowed to make mistakes ;) She didn't give you a hard time about a mistake like that did she? Just chalk it up to nerves for being observed for the first time by your principal. The observations will get easier as time goes on!

You too? Ugh and you're leaving 1-2 weeks before me! I might have to wait that long??

Thanks  She just walked up to me and said quietly "just to let you know, the last answer isn't right" and I quickly let her know that I would address it tomorrow with the class. She seemed to be okay with that and said I would get her write up early next week. Thanks for the encouragement!

[editted too many details -- let's just say it was a whole bunch of WAAAAAAAAHHH!]

Tomorrow afternoon I will officially be on Spring Break. Which means I get to work 40 hours at my real job and get some money back into my account... FOR DISNEY!! After that, I'll have eight more days in the classroom until this is all over with. Then I have my Linear Algebra final on the 9th (why yes, I'm also taking a night class in addition to student teaching and working 15 hours a week!) and then it's just waiting until graduation! The day after graduation, we're in DISNEY!!

So basically we're talking 35 days from today until the trip. I have never wished days away because you should take them one at a time and all that jazz. But seriously? GET ME OUT OF HERE!!

Sorry for the long rant and rambling but I just needed that. *watches everyone hightail it off her PTR* :wave2: :rotfl2:

I'm so sorry to hear you're having issues. You sound like you have done an amazing job. Please don't let them get you down. Just do your best as you have been doing. :thumbsup2

And if you need to rant, we're here to read and offer you hug smilies and flowers!:flower3::grouphug:

AND YAY FOR 35 DAYS!!!!!:banana::banana:

Happy Easter, everyone! I'm sorry that I haven't been keeping up with this. I've been on the boards but there's not much to talk about. We're just counting down the days at this point. I'm not freaking out about packing just yet strangely enough. We've been making lists of things that we won't be able to do this trip like the segway tour of the World Showcase, staying at AKL and trying out California Grill around Wishes time.

My boyfriend and I dyed eggs yesterday. I walked away for a few minutes and when I came back, I found this:

Isn't that cute? Speaking of dying things, we're going to a tie dye studio this weekend to get our Mickey head tie dye done. I'm such a perfectionist that I don't trust us to not waste good t-shirts trying to do it ourselves. It'll be fun since we have a few friends meeting us there to do their own too. I'll post pictures when we get back.

Today is 24 days until WDW and I'm celebrating by watching Enchanted on Disney Channel. Today is also 8 student teaching days and 23 days until my college graduation!

That is the cutest Mickey egg ever!

How cool to go to a tye dye studio. never heard of one. One thing about the Mickey head tie dye tees. make sure to really get the rubber bands super tight around your outline, and pull your threads really tight after you baste around.

have fun!!!! can't wait to see how they turn out.

Thanks! The place we're going is in New Hope. You should check it out if it's not too far for you. They do birthday parties there too. Thanks for the tips, I'll tell them about that.

New Hope is not that far from me. If you're going there, be sure to visit Sand Castle Winery. Yummmmm

I just found your PTR. I went to GradNite too - I always thought that was just for Florida public high schools?

You'll enjoy Raglan's in DTD - it's great atmosphere even if you aren't into Irish food.

Have you been to Typhoon Lagoon before? I have it on my to-do list this trip and it's a first for me.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thanks for commenting. I'm sorry I didn't read it until now. Yes, this will be my first time at Typhoon Lagoon. I'm so excited!!

Well guys.. I'm sorry I didn't keep up with this PTR towards the end. There wasn't much to tell because we were just heads down, working toward the end of the semester.

However, I do have some news now... I graduated with my bachelor's degree today!!:dance3::cool1:

Right now, I just got out of the shower after making sure absolutely everything is in the suitcases and the things that couldn't be packed yet are still unchecked on the packing list. In 6.5 hours the limo will be here to pick us up. In a little more than 12 hours we'll be in WDW!! :yay:
