Got a late PAT - any way to bump it up?

In the past, I’ve always gotten an early-ish PAT. 10:30-10:45. Even when I was a lowly Silver. Even, in fact, on my very first DCL cruise.

My OLCI window opened yesterday, and as a Gold, I got a 1:30-1:45 PAT. Not sure if this is because of COVID (and they are putting fewer people in each PAT to spread out the crowds), or because I didn’t check in at the earliest possible opportunity, or both.

I know some people like later PATs for reasons X, Y and Z. And that’s totally cool. But we are not those people. We want on the ship ASAP.

Is there any way to get your PAT moved up? I’m not talking about a hack or something sneaky where I’d essentially be cutting in line ahead of someone. I just mean a 100% above-board method, freely available to all, that I never learned about because I’ve never had a late PAT before.

Or do I just have to live with the PAT?

The only way I know of is to keep checking in your online check in - sometimes people do change their plans and earlier times can come up.

Only way is to randomly check PAT's to see if someone changes their time

How you get to the port can give you an earlier time. If you take a DCL bus from the airport or Disney resort you get checked in when ever you arrive.

You on the May 28 Fantasy? I stayed up until Midnight and at 12:20 when I was selecting a PAT everything from 11:00-11:15 and onward was available. I guess it fills up fast.

DCL bus is the only way I know to move up your PAT. However, that wouldn't affect your boarding group number.

I had the OLCI date wrong in my reminders, so I didn’t realize it was “the day” until about 5:00 p.m. I thought my Gold status might help me out a little with the PAT, but no dice.

Yes, I successfully changed my PAT by keeping checking back on online check in for the May 7 Fantasy sailing. I had 2 reservations with 2 different PAT and I was able to get 10:30 for both and boarding group 4.

Is it a special itinerary or something where a majority of passengers know about online check-in opening up? I didn't get my parents done for 5/16 until a day or so after online check-in opened and they still landed 11:30-11:45 PAT and BG 13.

No, nothing special I can think of. Run-of-the-mill E. Carib Fantasy sailing.

Since I am checking every day to see if a cabana opens up, I guess I can check for earlier PATs while I’m at it.

We are on the may 8 transatlantic and platinum. I paid when it was due and signed up for excursions and still couldn’t get any cocktail tastings, late dinner. I’ll have to try onboard. I checked in first day I could and only got 12 15 which is late for us. I know the ship can’t be full. Frustrating

I think since everyone can check-in at 30 days, there's really no advantage for status, unfortunately. Everyone is on the same page there. It would be nice if they did a 3-2-1 day early thing for Platinum (until PAT/BG doesn't matter for them anymore), Gold, and Silver, then on day 30 anyone.

It is memorial day week. A lot of schools are done with the year by memorial day, and many parents get a day off without having to use a vacation day.

I think since everyone can check-in at 30 days, there's really no advantage for status, unfortunately. Everyone is on the same page there. It would be nice if they did a 3-2-1 day early thing for Platinum (until PAT/BG doesn't matter for them anymore), Gold, and Silver, then on day 30 anyone.

Agree. Having CC levels really gives no benefits now other than the 10% in shops for G and P and Palo for P.

Yeah, I guess it may have been silly to think Gold status was going to help me out. But I was grasping at straws.

Silver lining - a 1:30 PAT gives us a few more hours to hang out at Riviera that morning.

You could potentially drive to the airport and then take the Disney transportation from there (which I believe allows you to skip PAT). Would allow you to get around PAT for a whole lot less than concierge (but highly unlikely to be worth it other than the satisfaction of getting away with it)

I was a day late and got group 13 1130 am. Installed PAT every day and about 10 days out for 1045am
